question for canadians

Post by megxyz128 »

do any of you know how easy it would be for an american to go to college in canada and live there, become a resident. i know the process is super shitty for a canadian coming to america, but since canada owns i thought it might be easier the other way. any help of where i can even start searching is much appreciated. thx.

i don't think it is super hard, you don't need to take canadian history or anything, as far as i know you just apply and if you get accepted your in, but i'm just starting my college career next year and i don't know how it works forsure

I have been wondering this as well. I looked into it a while ago. And for me it said I'd need to apply for a work visa to work there. That's as far as i got. :freak:

I don't think it's hard if you're a student .. you have to get some sort of student visa thing I believe ... if you just want to move here to work, I think it's harder .. but students definitely have it easier

I go to U of T at Scarborough. Half the students in my first year Sociology class were not from Canada..............I thought that was really cool.

I'm assuming it is pretty easy..........though the actual process I'm not sure of. I'm too lazy to find out for you..........

you need to actually write SAT's for sure
but other than that.. you need to get a student visa and get into a school etc.. as for living here.. last i heard they some what tightened up those regulations.. in order to be considered a resident i mean.. cuz lots of kids would come over from india for the comp sci stuff and just .. well.. not leave.. so yeah..

they'd do it all legally tho
there was a loophole in the system that they took advantage of

I'm pretty sure its really easy to get a student visa. At the uni/college here, i think we advertise for students in asia. They love exchange students. I don't know if you'd have to pay more for tuition or anything.

You do pay more, but it's not nearly as much as it is to go to the same calibre of school in the states.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

the differences in prices can be staggering..
here at U of Sask, one of the guys in my suite is from Indonesia and he's payin some $10,000 per year or something and im paying about 3,000 for tuition..

then again.. in state fees vs out of state fees in florida can get as high as 10x or something ridulous as that

edited to make more sense
thanks to melissa for pointing that out
