i'm finally checking out this legendary band and liking most of it, does anyone have any suggestion for me?
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Guy: Her locker's down the hall, I've counted 17 from mine.
Girl: Does he see me? Does he even know that I'm close by?
Guy: We're in the hallway, always at half past nine.
Girl: Would he ever get to know me? Would he take the time?

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Hail, Hail as a favorite song. I think that would be my favorite if I had to pick one. It's from the album No Code which, although it may not be an easy listen at first, is probably their best album with Yield as a close second. I can't wait for Lost Dogs  I haven't even heard too many of the songs of it yet. It's out Nov 11 along with a live (double) DVD for those of you who don't know.

Brutus is an honorable man
It's just coincidence that oil men will wage war in an oil rich land
And this one goes out to my man taking cover in the trenches with a gun in his hand
Then gets home and no one flinches when he can't feed his fam...

But Brutus is an honorable man...

yeah, i'm pretty excited for that too. Hail, Hail is an awesome song, but I gotta go with I Got Id, Porch, In Hiding, and Love Boat Captain as my favorites. there's almost too many.
