If you buy one, go with electric. It costs a bit more, but electrics are a lot easier to learn on. Trust me. I went through the acoustic phase. Didn't work out. Then I started learning on an electric and it was great.
yeah, i'd agree. My teacher told me years ago when I was starting, 'if you wanna be in a band and wanna play the electric guitar, that's where you should start'.

My Ibanez is in the shop.
I've been having problems for a long time with keeping it in tune. Any bending of the strings will usually put it out in a hurry.
So, I took her in. The guy at the guitar store said that he could put a custom-made-to-fit block of wood behind the bridge, so that it wouldn't move when I bend (it moves so that one can use a whammy bar). He said that this should help a lot.
I get it back tomorrow.
You know what? I have the BIGGEST urge to play some hardcore electric songs right now.

hmmm i've noticed that my Ibanez has recently aquired a nasty vibrating noise. The string is vibration against something when i play it and it's annoying because i know it's not my fault cause i'm giving it sufficent pressure and there's not fret placement problems

^the problem's probably that the neck has lost its proper shape due to weather, or leaning it against a wall for a long time. If it's still under warranty I'd take it in and they should be able to fix it. Though, if they ask make sure you say that you always keep it on a stand or in a case, then they can't blame you. I had the same problem with with my takamine acoustic.
ah ic thanx, i never use a stand so that's probably it

Oh, for fuck's sake!
I got my guitar back, and when I went out to the car, I checked the pocket on my case. Inside was a package from a brand of strings that I haven't used for years. I went back in, and asked why they put on those strings instead of the ones that I specifically asked for, and he wrote down. He said that he just found those in there and accidentally used them instead of the ones I'd paid for. So, he gave me a set of the ones I'd paid for, and I was on my way.
Well, I got home, plugged 'er in, and realized why I stopped using that shitty brand of fucking strings years ago. The sound is so tinny and ear-splitting that I really just want to cut off my ears. Better yet, I want to cut off the ears of the asshole who strung it.
Fuck, I'm pissed.
So, after supper, I'm going back with my guitar and the strings I bought and making that son of a bitch restring it. I could just do it myself, but it was his mistake and his fault, so I want him to do it.
Guh.
