Guy: Her locker's down the hall, I've counted 17 from mine.
Girl: Does he see me? Does he even know that I'm close by?
Guy: We're in the hallway, always at half past nine.
Girl: Would he ever get to know me? Would he take the time?

Fenders are nice guitars. Fender Squires, however, are not. They're pretty basic, run of the mill, poorly made guitars for beginners. They're cheap in case you don't really get into the guitar, and if you beat it up, it won't matter, because it's cheap.
If you're into playing the guitar, I'd recommend you take a step up in guitar quality, maybe to a normal Fender or an Ibanez guitar. I'd choose Fender though, they play well for the price.

I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

The US ones are pretty expensive though. A good Mexican always plays well, but make sure to steer clear from the Japanese ones.

Question: I have a Greg Bennett Malibu electric guitar that I got for Christmas last year. With a really shitty amp that stops working a lot of the time, a guitar case, shitty picks, and amp cords (not that proper name, I know) that total cost was roughly $300. Is this thing a piece of shit? I'm pretty sure it is...I'd just like a second opinion, or a third, or a fourth...

That I have no clue about. When I play acoustics, I play high end quality. I am rocking out on the Taylors, Martins, and Gibsons when I am playing acoustically.
Does your guitar have to be acoustic? I say you save up the money and go electric, I mean, if you ever want to join a band, it's easier to find people to play with if you have a Strat or Telecaster than an acoustic guitar, unless you want to be like Chris Carrabba, and if that's so, God bless your soul.

Common misconception about the Squires there... the new ones are indeed crap but if you get one from back around '98 or so or earlier, before they switched production from Mexico to Japan i think, they were actually quite nice guitars. I've got a '96 electric and she's a sweety.
