Post by Flea21212 »

Out of 5 cd's which song which song ended its cd the best, or is the best of of the 5?

I know I originally put "A story about a girl" in there not sure why it didn't show up.... sorry it's there now

This is really tough. You forgot story about a girl, but i don't mind.

Anyways, I chose Car Crash because it really closes the cd well. It is an excellent song that really just sets you in a trance and makes the cd hard to forget.

wonderful future is a close second, then comes stealing babies, and the only reason i did not choose stealing babies is because i didn't think it closed the cd as well as the other two. neon crossing in fourth. I like it, but it just isn't as good as the others. And last is story about a girl... just because you can't even compare it to the other four.

Stealing Babies hands down! It's one of my favorite OLP songs (up there with Starseed and Middle of Yesterday). Oh, also...2 words: Elvin...Jones

In fact, I would say that's the best closer not only on an OLP album, but any album!

Oh yeah, and fix the poll

But Brutus is an honorable man...

Bah, The Wonderful Future.

I mean, come on, SM was a masterpiece of these musically mind expanding songs, then you have the most amazing song ever written to close the cd. It ends SM perfectly, and my God, the music just makes me feel all warm inside.

That's it, I need to end my OLP hiatus (been going on it since March) and listen to The Wonderful Future. Ahhh.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I never listen to cds in order, i put all my olp songs on a playlist and go random. i guess i'm weird like that :freak:

i really like neon crossing, but i dont think i've ever heard it at the end of the cd, because i started doing that ^ after i got naveed. dont really think its a cd ending song.

the wonderful future always annoys the hell outta me, because EVERY SINGLE FREAKING time i forget about the hidden track and think i broke my computer  *shakes fist angrily*

stealing babies is an awesome song, though i havent really been able to force myself to appreciate the end of it.

car crash i guess is the best cd ending song. it really puts together any loose ending of a brilliant album. its not my fav of the above songs, but it really works.

Stealing babies.

Okay, I don't know much about Elvin Jones, but damn, I love the ending to Stealing Babies... it just sorta ends the entire album with a "what the fuck was that...?... hmm, well, okay..." type of feeling that I love. The "weighed down again" part just kills me...

In case you didn't pick up the hint, I chose Stealing Babies.

i'm gonna have to go with stealing babies, just because that son friggin' rocks.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I would say, for me it's either Stealing Babies or Car Crash.. TWF coming next. with Car Crash and Stealing Babies it just seems like the end of the cd more, like some sorta finale or something.. with TWF (unless you wait/forward to the hidden track) Neon Crossing and Story About a Girl they end and you're like "Why'd it stop?".. more so with the latter two.. anyway.. That's just how it feels for me, I might be crazy

Neon Crossing is a good song, but not very 'ending-song-ish'. It could have worked well anywhere in the album.

I have to say the wonderful future, then stealing babies very close behind, then neon crossing. They're all just incredible songs.
