Marilyn Manson = Willy Wonka?

Johnny Depp speaks on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory remake

Johnny Depp is keen to take on the lead role in Tim Burtons's, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake, but he'll happily step aside if rocker Marilyn Manson wants the part.

Manson and Depp are the only names in the running to recreate the beloved ROALD DAHL eccentric, and Depp admits the rocker would be the perfect Wonka.

He says, "It's an exciting possibility for me to go back and do another film with Tim. It would be a ball. I'll keep all my digits crossed, as it were.

"That said, I'd go and see Manson as Willy Wonka. I'd go and see him in anything."

I happen to agree with Mr. Depp. Marilyn Manson would make an excellent Willy Wonka. Your thoughts?

Manson doesn't get as much credit as he deserves because of his eccentricity.

Go Manson.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

this is very very wrong... the fact that they are even attempting to remake the movie is a shame. The original movie has a cult following. Why would you ruin that? It'd be like remaking the Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's just not right.

I kind of agree that they shouldn't remake the movie, the first one was great and I don't think they could top it. If they did remake it though, it would be entertaining at the very least to see Manson play the part.

no, no no. Johnny Depp should get this part.

and like J-Neli I think it is lame to even remake it. And if they do, maybe Marilyn Manson can play an oompa-loompa instead.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

Agreed. Don't make the movie. But if they do, for the love of God, don't put him in it. I really don't have anyting against the guy, besides utterly disgusting me, but I just don't think he fits the part.

The definately shouldn't remake it. Nothing could compare with the original!

Marilyn Manson would just be WRONG though. Urgh. No way.

It's not like he'll be in full make-up! You likely wouldn't even recognize him.

I don't think they should do a re-make though. The originally Wonka was great!

^yeah, although I'd love to see a creepy version of ww. That is to say, purposely creepy, the old one is already quite sinister.

Manson wouldn't be creepy in it... He wouldn't be wearing any make-up, for one thing.

And he would have curly blond hair.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
