Hey Idealist...you have THE typical college dorm room. Ramen filled yaffa blocks, a desk under a lofted bed...hopefully you take advantage of it and party hard!

it smells like dirty carpet.

When you deep clean carpets that's what happens, all the smells are raised out of it. That's why here they recomend that if you're getting your carpet deep cleaned to do it over Christmas break.

That is freaking awesome, Kimmy. Does everyone in your hall bombard you with questions b/c you're from the U.S.? :)

This is basically the layout of my entire suite. It's more spacious than it looks. And it's even nicer when you get along really well with all your suitemates.

man, I friggin' hate you guys!

I'm having to go to a local college, (I just graduated, and I just turned 18. I had planned to go to Univ. of Alabama, but my scholarship didn't come through. Then, I got a full-paid scholarship to the local college, so I figured I'd kick around my hometown for another year or two and get some basics outta the way)

Anyways, since I'm going to a school that's like within half an hour of my dad's house, I moved in with him, and I'm crashing at his house for the time being. It's kinda cool, I guess, since I pay no rent and come/go as I please; but I'd still prefer a casa of my own.

Me and two of my buds are planning on splitting a mucho three bedroom apartment close to campus, but that's months away. Living at home fluffin' sucks. :(
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

ha no it seems everyone here is either from the US or Toronto. There are 4 other people I know of in Solin Hall alone from Long Island. hehe we're not exactly a rarity here. we were discussing it though, and we figured that it may be because if you're brave enough to come all the way up here to canada for college then you're brave enough to stay in :GASP: Solin Hall. everyone in Upper Rez downtown by the campus thinks we're crazy because we take the :GASP: metro to school every day.

I don't know how you guys could deal with a community bathroom. I have a bathroom i share with three other people, but it still kicks ass over a community bathroom.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

Our bathrooms are actually pretty nice. They're always clean and girls tend to take better care of themselves...hygiene wise. At least the ones on my floor do.

your lucky, i've heard stories about nasty panties thrown all over the place, and used tampons in the shower stalls and everything. that's just wrong.
