xjsb125 wrote:In the booklet for Spiritual Machines, in the credits it says that a sample from the Terminalheads "Under Fire" is used on In Repair. I'm guessing that is what the talking is in the middle of In Repair. Or maybe I've not had enough sleep. I've tried looking for that song on some different file sharing clients, but have had no luck. Anybody else had any luck?

If you look in the Happiness ... cover it says 'Trk #1 sample: Terminalhead's - "Underfire" '

It can't be a sample from the same song in both In Repair and OMA (or can it??), so I'm not sure what that's about.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

*checks this out*

Aah! Minor detail, most likely of little to no significance -- in SM, it says:

"sample on 'in repair' by terminal heads underfire - v2"

v2???
"if the nuremberg trials were applied to us foreign policy, every us president since 1945 would have been hanged." noam chomsky.

I don't know about the Samples, but both Raine and Mike Turner told me it is the POPE talking in (In Repair) during the break part. Which I miss when they did the song live last year, plus Raine stop playing guitar on it.

as for Made To Heal I have no clue what is being said. hey I am still trying to figure out the earlier songs like Supersatelite and stuff liek that.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

But you have to admit, hearing "In Repair" live again was mighty nice. Ahhhh good times.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Well, I'm just gonna say this one thing - in the break in 'in repair' i hear the word 'superhuman'. Just sayin is all.

I definitely hear "heaven" in that part, which makes the pope saying a prayer make more sense.

To add to the Ternminalhead stuff: I looked for them on the internet, and it turns out they are a breakbeat group. So basically they create some odd and end audio samples. You can read about their stuff here:

I think in Made To Heal it is 'Maybe I'm Everyone'

it's just what it sounds like to me...

Don't want to be down here feeding my narcissism. I must crucify the ego before it's far too late. I pray the light lifts me out before I pine away.

I say it as "ev-ry".

Depends on if he says "Ev-er-y" or "Ev-ry". Lyrics are usually flexible like that.

After listening a few times sine I opened this thread the thing on Made to Heal sounds sorta like "Oh my god Everyone" or something... And on In Repair I definately hear the word heaven, and something about Mercy too.

I'm bad with lyrics...I listen to the sounds first...and I think that part is real cool so I'm happy.

From Lee Groves of Terminalhead:

Also, the vocal sample in the background is a Terminalhead sample, off one
of the Underfire samples CD's. In the other track (One Man Army) , some of the shortwave sounding sweeps are ours too!

Good luck!

Cheers,

Lee :-)

So that answers a little bit for us. I'll contact him again and see if I can find out what the words in the background are.
