Whenever death may surprise us,
let it be welcome
if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear
and another hand reaches out to take up our arms.

Nobody's gonna miss me, no tears will fall, no ones gonna weap, when i hit that road.

I am completely and utterly obsessed with every aspect of LOTR .. the books were amazing, the set, all the work that has gone into the making of it, the actors (elijah fuckin' wood ).. it just blows my mind. To Rob who said there's not much action? Have you seen the Two Towers yet cuz the battle scene is fantastic and is quoted as being one of the best battle scenes in movie history. I have the first movie on VHS and DVD plus the extended versions, then I have the second one on DVD and am anxiously awaiting the 4 disc set that comes out in November and then ROTK in December ... I am practically peeing my pants in excitement here.

I've watched them both over and over .... now as for Star Wars ... I think it's pure crap and was forced to sit down and watch the series years ago. Did not interest me in the least

Ewan Mcgregor said that he really liked the script, which is a good indication, since up till now he's never been too thrilled with the prequels.

Oh oh, and George Lucas confirmed that this movie will have the longest lightsaber batle of any Star Wars film. Score!

I wanna get the comp program they had. I think it was called Massive or something, and they generate all the warriors and they go off and fight using different fighting styles and crap and

I might have my info wrong but I think this is what I heard on some interview thingy.

Are you talking about the one for the MTV Movie Awards with Will Ferrell as the architect? I saw that and thought it was hilarious. The part were Gollum accepted his award was also really funny

Viggo (Aragorn) actually requested that he and Liv (Arwyn) have more lines in elvish for the second movie .. in an interview Liv said she wished all her lines were in elvish because it's such a beautiful way to speak

I have to choose LotR because J.R.R. Tolkien was way ahead of his time in his writings. I'm a fairly big fan of both - I've seen all the movies and read the LotR trilogy, but I've never read any Star Wars books (all the books came after the movies, did they not?).

I assume you saw (or have) TTT on DVD right? well in the sneak peak of the ROTK they say that the massive war scene basically blows helms deep out of the water. Which is something that I cannot fathom. I could have cried when I saw that cause it ment I had to wait till December for the movie.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

As far as quality goes: LOTR, hands down.

As far as cultural impact: Star Wars, hands down.

As far as the one with the hottest chicks... kinda a tie.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

 that's definitely important to take into consideration.

i still think if we're talking about the movies its kinda hard to judge until at least after RotK comes out. maybe even years after that.

you cant compare the original trilogy to LotR. SW was made back in the late 70's early 80s. LOTR was made in the past 5 years. i mean, technology now is so different than it was back then. im surprised no one has mentioned what the LotR story is even about... WWII. and you can liken SW to the cold war.

Lord of the rings and star wars are both excellent. unless you have actually immersed yourself in the SW universe, you're missing out on a basis of comparison..

however they both blow Harry Faggot Potter out of the water
