They're two very different things in my opinion. But if you're gonna talk about the films, I'd say Star Wars is leagues better. I mean the LOTR movies are pretty good, but Star Wars has such a classic story and the fact that its a huge part of american film culture.

I agree with him.

He's saying that Star Wars is a far superior set of movies. This is true.

However, the LotR books are far superior to Star Wars, in movie or book form.

This reminds me... I need to pick up the SW trilogy in DVD form sometime soon.

I am all over LOTR. I dont care how classic the starwars movies are, the new ones blew ass chunks. LOTR keeps getting better and better.

the triology isnt on dvd yet.

The Lord of the Rings movies are good but they drag on and at times the dialogue can be boring. There is a lot less action in Lord of the Rings as well it just seems like a bunch of dialogue.

Star Wars has a large expansive story line that is still easy to follow. There are a multitude of awesome characters that each have a part of the movies. George Lucas is also a genius and created a world that no other movie has yet to come close to besides Lord of the Rings a bit and Harry Potter. I think that overall Star Wars is better but Lord of the Rings comes close to it and has a good story line just a lot different then Star Wars.

I think it will be easier to judge which is better in about 15 years when we can see if LOTR has a lasting impact like Star Wars did.

Right now, I'd have to say Star Wars is better. I grew up watching it. LOTR is kick ass too and I can't wait for Return of the King, but Star Wars is still better. Ah, I'm such a geek. :lol:

I should add that I'm only talking about the original trilogy. The new ones are crap. They should never have been made.

wait till Return of the king comes out. it's hard to tell without even having the complete trilogy. i'm not a huge SW fan though, so i'll say Lord of the Rings.

Well, having read the books (which are 100 times better than the movies) I can make an easy judgement as far as the movies go.

attack of the clones was a very good movie and had amazing effects and i can not wait for episode III :drool:
