Yzerman's on his way out, federov is gone, lidstrom is gone, hopefully hull and chelios will follow Yzerman when he retires after this year

the leafs arent looking much better though. signing two new player after a fairly disapointing season isnt enough improvement.

A world hockey league would be awsome! Make for some tough road games though...Hopefuly Hull will market it better than Bettman and get some interest here in the US!

i think it's just another u.s./canada leaugue called the WHL instead of the nhl or something. he was planning on it debuting in 2004 to attract nhl fans/players during the strike.

Edit: I found a link. it's the WHA actually http://www.worldhockeyassociation.net/

and it looks like they really are looking into a bit of a market overseas!

this from the florida sun

Which six teams will win their divisions, who will make it to the Finals and where do the Panthers finish?

Northeast: Ottawa -- Still, it won't stop the annual fire Jacques Martin rumors; Atlantic: New Jersey -- Stanley Cup hangover? Not a chance; Southeast: Tampa Bay -- Nikolai Khabibulin puts ill-will with coach behind him; Central: Detroit -- Ray Whitney makes Motown forget Sergei Fedorov; Northwest: Colorado -- Everywhere you turn there's a superstar; Pacific: Anaheim -- Fedorov-Vaclav Prospal quotient more than makes up for Paul Kariya-Adam Oates.

Stanley Cup Final: Vancouver over Ottawa

Where the Panthers finish: Out of the playoffs, but they'll prove they're just a season away, just in time for the lockout.
