See, I was completely confused as to who would win the MTV2 award. I mean, there were six amazing artists nominated for that, and it was left to the fans to choose. It was insane. I never would have thought AFI would have won that one. I honestly thought it would go to QOTSA, but I was wrong. I wanted Interpol to win, but eh, whatever. Too bad this was the only award of the night worth watching.

That award is great though. It's truly the talent award. The other ones, meh. Out of the six nominees in other awards, only two or three have minimal talent at best. I mean, Britney Spears flat out can't sing. She sucks. A tit job does not make anyone a better musician, plain and simple.

And apparently to get nominated, you have to act as black as possible. Anyone else notice this? Look at Beyonce Knowles. Yes, she is black, but she seemed respectable, now she acts like a stereotypical rapper, and it sucks. People trade respectability for album sales. Christina Aguilera, enough said. She's not even Mexican, she just has a funny last name. It happens everywhere, I guess it's trendy to act like something you're not. Oh well. They'll all die before me and I'll laugh.

I watched a bit of a repeat of the awards this morning at my grandma's house. *shrugs* Coldplay was good, but no one else particularly impressed me. :P

I don't think Christina is trying to come off Mexican w/ her name...I think she's going for "latin" or "spanish". Even though she looks absolutely retarded now w/ her hair. These people change themselves so much it disgusts me.

I laughed my ASS off when Dave Navarro came onstage and played guitar to Christins'a "Fighter". It was just...odd.

ETA...Neil...if you look at her quote it quotes Megan first quoting you, then her quoting Megan. That's why you're in it.

Actually, Dave does the guitar on a lot of pop albums, so that's probably actually him on her CD.

That's the #1 reason I don't like Navarro. He's an amazing guitar player. Great in Jane's Addiction and when he was with RHCP for an album. But man, that pop crap he does just ruins it for me.

yeah, you all know (or should know) that i'm a big AFI freak and although i was REALLY happy that they won the award, i didn't think it was the best video. I thought that video sucked actually. In terms of video/song I think Interpol deserved it, or the Common video was really good too. But yeah, I can admit that GNG was not the best video of the 5.

oh and neil, it was just a joke d00d.

Yeah, it's a fan vote, and as much as you're going to hate to hear this Megan, AFI is the popular choice to pick because those stupid fucktard Hot Topic punks vote for AFI because it's the cool thing to do. I think it's absolute bullshit, really. Just because those ass clows like Good Charlotte doesn't mean they have to vote for AFI because they get thrown into the same trend.

God I need to stay out of this thread. MTV pisses me off too much.

I think Dave palying was more or less like when Lenny Kravitz played with Madonna years ago when she sang Ray of Light. Get agreat guitarist to show how cool you are. Then again, I like Madonna as a performer more then a singer.

What POP albums does Dave play on? I didn't know that.

the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"

i like older AFI like "god called in sick today" and "total immortal" much more than the new stuff
"Sh*t, id be f*ckin' scared if us were opening for...us"
-Dave Grohl on why the Red Hot Chili Peppers only let the Foos play a 45 minute set when they toured together

"baby, i wish you were my baby,
ill make u make a baby,
let's make electric power,
in fear u should not cower,
cuz girl i will protect u,
i promise not to sex u,
and IiiiiIiiiiIiiiiiiIiiiiiIiiiiii...." - Dudez a Plenti

"all by myself
cause I don’t want to drag you down, hold you down
cause you’re a friend
i blame myself
i guess you think it’s funny now, funny now
it's such a shame..."
-Feeder - Just a Day

Just wanted to say that Christina Aguilera's actually half latin. Her dad's from somewhere in South America.

I shouldn't know these things... I really shouldn't.
