I don't understand this...how can people not be in love with Potato Girl, Waited, and Lying Awake? Life would be meaningless without those songs....
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I always sort of ignored car crash ....and now it is one of my favorite songs. I also never really got all my friends when it first came out but now I think its one of the better songs on the album.

re-liking songs is fun.

car crash, story of 100 aisles, and Annie

Annie's now one of my fave songs. I just hated the intro to it when I first hear it, with the beep beep beep...

I would have to say:
Under Zenith
Let You Down
Potato Girl(now my fave on Happinesss)
All My Friends
Sell My Soul(I hated it at first but me like now)

I love every song they put out though (including all of gravity)
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

Waited took forever for me to start to like it, yet it was always the song that got caught in my head. :freak: It's still one of my least favorite OLP songs, but I like it a lot more now than I did before.

Sometimes it took hearing the song live to get me to like it sooo much. Like with Car Crash, I thought it was good but it never really did anything for me, then I heard it live and WOW 8O. it was amazing. The same thing with Starseed.

 i find some of these absolutely craaaaaaaaazy.... lol. waited is one of my favorite songs of happiness, it's so amazing. same with Annie.

although, I disliked The Wonderful Future at first. Something popped into my head along the lines of "are they on crack?!" but now, i love it... one of my favorite songs ever.....
Also, I never really listened to Car Crash at the beginning. I just.... I don't know, I don't remember ever listening to it. Does that count? I love it now :D

You know, OLP had to grow on me altogether. I hated them alot the first few times I heard them. Then I just kept going back in time for their cds and now I can honestly say I love all of it. Some of the songs would be Blister, Wonderful Future, Annie, Shaking...etc etc.

I've got a few here, let's see...

Denied
Is It Safe?
Shaking
Let You Down

Curiously, my opinion on the songs from Happiness hasn't changed one bit since I first listened to the cd

Oh boy, lots of SM...
Everyone's A Junkie
Are You Sad? (went from despising to worshipping after awesome live versions)
All My Friends
The Wonderful Future
If You Believe

Pretty much nothing's changed in the way I feel about gravity... with the exception of All For You. It did nothing for me at first, but I've really grown fond of the live album track.

So yeah... Are You Sad is the only song I really did a 180 turn on. Everything else I just grew to like more than I initially did.

And for what it's worth, I ragged on Not Afraid when it was played at the Junos pretty bad (just ask the Hub :) ). Now, it seems like it's really developed into a great song that I will eventually come to enjoy the hell out of if we ever get a studio cut.

I always say that I hate Story About A Girl, but whenever I listen to it I love it. The ones that have taken me a while to like are:

Do You Like It?
Sorry
All For You
Waited
The Wonderful Future
If You Believe
Lying Awake
Hello Oskar
Happiness & The Fish

Most of these I really like now(Hello Oskar and Happiness & The Fish are a couple of favourites), but I'm still getting used to The Wonderful Future and Do You Like It?.
"We're all in the gutter, but some of us look up to the stars, and you can be happy in the gutter if you don't know to look up. So the people who can become addicted and driven and sort of obsessed by music are the ones who look up and see the heights they can try to get to. But that drive never lets them be happy where they are" - Mike Turner
