I wish Raine would be a little more metaphorical with his lyrics, especially if he's going to get political; look at radiohead - aside from the title, most of hail to the thief is much more subtly anti-bush than "wipe that smile off your face" (and hail to the thief is at least cleverer)
wrapped my hurt in you
took my shelter in that pain
the opiate of blame
is your broken heart

I think he's getting back there, deviance, at least closer than with Gravity.

And I do like Wipe, but I find Walking to be a better song :wtf:

Wipe has the 4AM sounding vibe though, and it's potential is endless.

Raine needs to start reading more. Then we will get some crazy lyrics again

My friend bought hail to the thief and on the very day he bought it, someone broke through his car window and stole it along with the poster that came with it. If thats not irony i donno what is.

I felt the exact same way about wic the first dozen times I heard it, I thought it sounded really 80s rock and not like olp at all, but lately I've kinda been diggin' it. I think it's easier to like if you don't think of it as olp.

I know how to do that - ban computer games from the tour bus! I think the problem is too much GTA, not enough books :)
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

I have a question. I saw OLP a couple of weeks ago live with 3 Doors Down. I'm a huge OLP fan and they played two new songs that I really enjoyed. Walking in Circles and some other one I can't remember the name of. Is there any way I can listen to these again like off of mp3 or no?

You can listen to the craven version

And to be honest I am waiting for the recorded version to judge whether I like the song or not. I have heard the live version but I dont want to have an opinion on the record before its released.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

The other one is called "Wipe that Smile off your face". The best quality so far of them is Craven.

The Craven version of Not Afraid just doesn't sound right...

Despite the lack of actual lyrics, the Junos version has better structure.

Yeah I thought so too. The Craven version seems so much slower. :P
