How about The Planet Smashers? They're fucking fun live. And when I was in Canada last weekend, I saw them on Much Music's Punk show. Dumbest video ever, but hey, it's alright.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

i enjoy punk rock for it's honesty and sincerity. it's about the only genre where those things exist.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

The Living End

Brutus is an honorable man
It's just coincidence that oil men will wage war in an oil rich land
And this one goes out to my man taking cover in the trenches with a gun in his hand
Then gets home and no one flinches when he can't feed his fam...

But Brutus is an honorable man...

J-Neli wrote:Just my opinion... but most punk rock sounds the same to me... It's becoming what Nickleback/creed/theory/etc. was last year and the year before. A lot of bands who sound the same but are the new trend.

Again just my opinion, if you don't like it well don't take offense please.

I agree. It all sounds the same.

oh, and i forgot this part of my post.

there is no such thing as punk anymore.
no one really knows what it means.
it is all fashion now.
they all dress the same, which is stupid, since the whole point was supposed to be about being unique.
punk was supposed to be about changing the government, changing the world.
now it's not.
for the most part at least.
and the music mostly sounds like shit. it doesn't even take talent to make "punk" music.
That is all.

to me, describing yourself as "punk" is the same as calling yourself a "hippy". why would you want to first of all, label yourself, thereby limiting yourself to the stereotypes of others and second of all, associate yourself with such a hypocritical stigma?

I hope this is goodbye wrote:Wow, if you can't tell The Distillers from anyone else, I can teach you the difference between boys and girls

Anyways, what you just said is like saying you can't tell the difference between OLP, Creed, Nickleback, and Days of the New.

Actually, I can't tell the difference between Nickleback and Creed. I think they just copy of each other.

why are you guys so hard on creed? if you listen to their whole new album it is awesome. the music is awesome and alot of the lyrics are quite meaningful except for some of the more pop/radio friendlier songs. plus their sound is quite different with their kindof weird but unique vocals and three people that can actually play their instruments well. go listen to songs like "signs" ,"bullets", "whos got my back", "weathered", and "young grow old". most of their singles aren't a very good example of most of the music on their albums.

also, how can you say nickelback and creed are copying eachother? they are two totally different bands that sound totally different from eachother.

none of those bands are punk. not even close.

as for punk being dead. nope sorry. it's alive and kicking. yeah a lot of kids use it as a buzz word and have no idea what it means. but there's still a lot of bands and a lot of kids who live it and love it. punk is being who you are and doing what you love. now i'm not going to call myself punk because i'm just me, nothing else, but i live my life by those ideals. individuality, hard work, and determination, etc. i think punk rock teaches a lot of good things to kids and that is why i love it so much. it's very admirable to be in a punk rock band. that is why it is my dream.
