I need PC-Headset HELP!
Help me!
I have ran the sound tests on my new PC headset (that I plan to use to play Counter Strike) but for some reason when I run the game, the mic doesn't work. I get perfect sound though...
When I run the tests on the mic, it passes and i can hear myself talk 'n everything........BUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING WRONG!?
Somebody help meeeeeee!

Check to make sure that the microphone isn't muted in your sound options.
Double click the Volume icon in the system tray in the bottom right.
Make sure the "Mute" checkbox below "Microphone" and "Line In" (or both just to be sure. Some sound cards are funny like that.)
If the checkbox isn't there, then click Options > Properties
Click the Playback option box and check off "Line In" (if you have it).
Then click the Recording option box and check off "Microphone".
If that still doesn't work...
Start up CS/Half-Life
Click "Configuration" > "Controls"
At the top of the list you should see "Use Voice Communication" at the top of the list, and black spaces next to it (unless you've already mapped a key for voice comm., in which case I'm about out of ideas)
If it's blank, click on "Use Voice Communication", and double-click on the first empty space immediatly next it under the "Key/Button" column. It'll ask you to input they key you want to use. I suggest using caps lock, because it's within easy reach, but you don't want to remap Shift because you'll need that for sprinting.
Now go back to the main CS menu and click "Play CS".
Then click customize and make sure that "Enable voice in this mod" and "Use mic for voice input" are checked off.
Now when you're in game, you just have to hold caps lock to talk.
That should do it...

I did that....didn't work cuz my computer was somehow missing the .exe file called SndVol32 but xsjb gave it to me on the hub, so now i have that. I've made adjustments to the settings, even followed what Josh (curtman) told me to do, and I'm still getting feedback and cant' figure out why my mic won't work on CS.

not working Susan........when I press tab to look at the team overview, it doesn't even show a speaker for me, why is that???
I'm almost always the only one playing that doesn't have that showing......is there a CS setting that I'm missing???
