well, not really secret. i heard on the cc a couple of years ago that he got married. the ceremony was really quiet and not a lot of people knew about it. and he doesn't really talk about it.

while regular OLP bassist Duncan Coutts takes some time off for personal reasons.

He only took time off and he will be back

he will be back. It could be anything. Health reasons (he did have issues a few years ago with what could of been cancer). Maybe he had some family issues. There's no way Duncun is leaving. He even said in many interviews over the past few months how excited they are as a band and where they are going. Everyone just settle down. I'm sure they'll post something on olp.com or olp.net and explain to downplay the crazy theories.

OK, not REALLY. There is actually an explanation that makes me not so crazy/obsessive. But I don't feel like typing it out. Short story: I'll be near Tennessee and Matt (*hugs Matt*) has extra tix. :mrgreen:

P.S. Afterwards, Nikki is returning to Virginia with me and we're gonna shoot guns the next day I think. It was her idea so I dunno

having seen Higgins play on the SM tour, it's nothing different then seeing Coutts play. Duncan is a lil friendlier but that's because they are his fan. He's not leaving the band permanently, it's just a temp thing, maybe there's a illness in the family or something. Either way he'll probably be back in time to polish up the new album.

not fo rnothing, but maybe he needed to do routine stuff from when he was sick a few years back. I have been meaning to ask him how he was doing.

For those who don't remember in 2000, Duncan was very ill. He needed surgery and thank GOD, it wasn't cancerous. I tell you I was terrifeied when my friend told me he was sick.She was at the interview Mike and Raine did with Ray Kurzwell in 1/01. I was even more terrifeid when he came back and told me just exactly what he had to have surgery on. I must of look like a ghost. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about him leaving or what have you. He probably needs to take care of things (wheather it is for him, or family) we just have to think Positive thoughts and send them to the COUTTS family.

As for marriage, Duncan married his long time girlfriend(they had been together since 94/95) in Oct of 2000. he doesn't wear his band on stage cause it iterfered with his playing.

I personally never saw Rob, cause Ducnan was back by then, but I have alot of shows with him and he is pretty damn good. So as far as the sound goes, it is the same OLP sound. Only thing is someone else is temporary providing it.

Lets just keep everything on the POSTIVE side where Duncan is concerned and wish him the best. :love:

I'm guessing his wife is having a baby. I doubt it's illness again. And it's got to be something more than just some time off. They cancelled recording another 12 songs for it (remember, they were going to go back and record more, but then Raine just said that they were done now). Hopefully it's something good, and nothing comes up to make it perminant. Duncan rocks!

i would hope that if he was sick, he would want people to know about it so that they could keep him in their thoughts and prayers

when he was sick the last time, raine told everybody that he was sick and it was a known thing

so i doubt that he is sick
