Yeah, Malone is a fucking bastard. I've hated him since he threw his elbows around like a jackass and broke Isaiah Thomas' nose and knocked him out for a few games...that dirty fuck.

Next offseason will be interesting. Look for the Pistons to make a huge push for Kevin Garnett.. He would want to come here, and my God, we will dominate the league if that happened. Could you imagine the starting line-up of Ben Wallace at center, Darko Milicic at power forward (if he doesn't suck), Kevin fucking Garnett at small forward, Rip Hamilton at shooting guard, and Chauncey Billups at the point. If that happened, we know who is making it to the finals from the eastern conference. Until then, I am not bothering to watch an NBA game, because the season is already over.

Dream long and hard for lots of nites if you seriously think K.G. will go to the Pistons. Coming from a Minnesota native.......keep my eye on the papers back home and the wires, it'll take a lot to get him there. Look for the Timberwolves to throw a lotta money his way, and hopefully sign a "big name" to help keep him there.

No matter what......doesn't compare to the Lakers. God I'm glad I'm a sports junkie. :lol:

Look at it this way. If you play in the NBA, why would you stick with a losing team? Garnett can make the same amount of money in Detroit as he can in Minnesota, so there's no big change in monetary value. If he goes to the east, he has a realistic chance of making it out of the first round of the playoffs for the first time in his career. So what would you do? Take the money and lose, or take the money and win?

So you're saying that Detroit is putting together all around better seasons than the Timberwolves. Yes....this past season was an eye opener for the 'Tons. BUT......who has made the Timberwolves into a team that for the first several years of our existance, couldn't win 20 games in a season, and is now an over .500 franchise??? God....I remember those first couple seasons *blah* freakin Pooh Richardson oh my lord.

Well.....our first decent season we had Garnett and Gugliotta (who matters NONE now) running the floor. Garnett has made the team.....if the Timberwolves give him more money, possibly another supporter granted they hold onto Cassell which was a great pick-up, then I can't see Garnett leaving. He's made the team.....now with only a little bit more help we'll see brighter things for the Timberwolves.

It's amazing. Alonzo Mourning will make $5million a season for the next four years and he doesn't have a kidney. I have two, therefore, I should make at least $10million a year, right? He would have been worth the league minimum. You can't rely on the guy to be great anymore, although anything is better than the Nets' centers.

And I will say it again about Garnett. He can make the same amount of money in Detroit as he could in Minnesota. It comes down to the choice of either playing for a team that he has to carry or a team that can help him out. Out of the 50+ wins the T-Wolves win a year, you could easily take away 30 of them if they didn't have Garnett. You add Garnett to the Pistons, he could be the difference in 10-12 more wins a season and almost a guaranteed trip to the NBA Finals. To me, the choice seems obvious. Either get violated by Shaq and Tim Duncan in the first round of the playoffs, or come over to a league with no centers and no standout teams and thrive with a good team that can pay you top dollar. Which would you choose?

Completely valid points Alan......but again, I'm going to have to say that it will take a lot to get him out of Minnesota. True, given those points the choice does seem rather obvious.
But.....Garnett has stated over and over that he's completely secure with the leadership role in Minnesota. If he goes to a team like the Pistons, that have players that have established themselves within their roles, its not like Garnett can stroll on into Detroit and completely take over.
I'm not completely ruling out that he won't leave Minnesota.....but i think people are underestimating how much he likes it there.

I am sure he does like it there, there's no doubt it my mind about that, but you have to realize that he isn't going anywhere with the team. They're not any closer to winning the championship than they were since they drafted him. They make it to the playoffs consistantly, but they always bow out in the first round. I am sure after a while he has to get tired of it. If Garnett doesn't make it out of the first round next season, I think there's a good chance he would leave. He has to make it to the Conference Finals to be absolutely sure that he will stay in with Minnesota. it that doesn't happen, I don't see him not looking to shop himself around.

I think he will go to Detroit for two reasons. One, we have all the money we need to sign him. We could have went after Tim Duncan if we wanted to, but Duncan will never leave San Antonio. Two, a good friend of his is on the team. Chauncey Billups and Garnett are great friends, and that can help sway you to playing for Detroit.
