sweet blasphemy my giving tree
it hasn't rained in years
i bring to you this sacrificial offering of virgin ears
leave it to me i remain free from all the comforts of home
and where that is i'm pleased as piss to say
i'll never really know
oh man, i love this movie... i saw it last night and i was like
lol.... i never liked johnny depp till i saw this movie, i absolutely love the character he played, and he did it really amazingly well.
and the movie was so good.
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know
Can someone give a reason why they didn't like Reloaded? Because I can give ten reasons why I did like it.
1. I understand it's the first half of a story... literally, the first half. The movie was edited together and split in half at a certain point (where they left off). It's a set-up movie, so I didn't expect things to ever get closed up.
2. The open ends have so many points on them. Smith, Seraph, Morpheus, Neo, Trinity, Niobe, The Kid, Commander Lock, they've all been stated in the movie... they all are obviously important to the end. Where they could go from this movie's presentation to them is so open, that things could go anywhere. It creates excitement for the next movie.
3. The action scenes were varied enough that it wasn't really tiring. The only thing that was extra was the Merovingian thug fight scene. But that was needed so that the Keymaker could escape, allowing Morpheus and Trinity to chase them and start the actual rescue of the Keymaker in full.
4. The Architect scene. A presentation that is an utter mind-fuck. You have swallowed the first series, figured out the world... only to discover it is bullshit. Or is it?
5. The dialogue points in so many different directions, that almost anything be correct. Theories can run wild, and there seems to be evidence backing it up.
6. The score is just excellent. "Mona Lisa Overdrive" during the Freeway Chase is this drumming, slamming, adrenaline-pumping score that perfectly accompanies the action that occurs on-screen.
7. Agent Smith having a majorly more interesting role in this one. No longer a proponent of the system, he still wants what he wanted in the first one... but now he isn't restricted to do what the overlords say to get there. So he does whatever he likes -- such as copying himself over other programs.
8. Seraph himself. We know he's majorly different somehow; his programming appears to Neo as gold, glowing against the regular green code that is what the Matrix really looks like. He's a mystery, and he "protects that which matters most". And given that there's shots of him in the Super Bowl ad and the Enter The Matrix Revolutions trailer going in with some guns alongside Trinity and Morpheus, he's gonna kick ass. Not to mention the Teahouse fight was a nice little warm-up for the...
9. Burly Brawl. 100 Smiths, 1 Neo. Despite the stiff look of the computer stuntmen (let's face it, folks, sure they looked stiff, but at least they weren't "jerky"), it was still magnificent. Just the amount of cool things they thought of -- one Smith is bapped on the head, one is batted into other Smiths, Neo spins around on the thing, the exchange of "... You." "Yes, me. Me me me me me..." "... Me too".
10. Neo flying. They really made sure it didn't look like shit. When he flies through the clouds, turns around... (this is another problem -- that Neo did look a little fake again) and goes through the clouds, creating a vortex behind him... and then, his dramatic escape through the building that we were told was rigged to explode if they opened the door at the wrong time near the beginning of the movie, where you see him pushing himself to go around corners at top speed... and then, of course, Neo flying as fast as he can through the streets, cars being dragged behind him... and then pushing himself AND GOING FASTER... it's just cool. If anything, Warner Bros. will document this for the Superman movie. And any other movie with flying men.
I had a sudden change of heart today and I found myself really wanting to see this movie...the previews made it look horrible and I don't usually find pirates particularly entertaining, but everyone has been saying how good it is and i decided it has potential. I definitely wanna see it soon.
