Writings by Jim...

Post by nelison »

Hey okay I haven't written anything in like 6 months or so... just felt the need to write something, it's kinda bad compared to a lot of my other stuff which can be found here

Let Go
You're waiting to exhale,
holding breath just doesn't work
light beyond the horizon breaks
and your nerves begin to shake
and thats when we all know,
it's about time we all let it go

Just let go,
it's alright
nothing more could be lost tonight
Just fall back
it's okay
tomorrow is another day

You're trying to prevale,
Trying things just won't work
when he comes before your horizon line
don't stop him, ya you'll be fine
He'll knock you down, shut you up
then you'll learn not to give a fuck.

Just let go,
it's alright
nothing more could be lost tonight
Just fall back
it's okay
tomorrow is another day

Just let it be, let it end
time is just another friend
falling fast, building slow
time has dealt another blow

Just let go,
it's alright
nothing more could be lost tonight
nothing more could lose this fright
nothing more, nothing less,
just lay right down you're like the rest
try so hard, try to see
just let go of what you want to see
Just fall back
it's okay
tomorrow is another day
another day,
another day,
another day,
another day,
Just let go, don't let him win
don't let him win
don't let him win[/url]

Soft Day Sorrow
Don't fall back on these beliefs
you know aren't true
Don't rely on that little thief
who you know guides you

worry about the truth be told
when silence rings,
when the young are old

it's those soft day sorrows
where nobody knows
that these soft day sorrows
make you bleed

Don't sit back on your intentions
you know they're false
Don't hope for all those honourable mentions
that will make you that star
oh its oh so far...

it's those soft day sorrows
where nobody knows
that these soft day sorrows
make you bleed

Embrace those that you see with your own two eyes
sympathize, memorize, realize
it's not today, these soft sorrow days,
borrow my face, borrow my soul
it'll make you gain control
of the reality and all you really are
cause all you really are
all you really are
are in these soft sorrow days
these soft sorrow days
where all lies beyond the haze
and help lies behind this daze
and life lies to those who stay
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

ya they're lyrics... I find it easier to write if I have a tune to go with it... unfortunately I don't know how to play any instruments so that tune remains in my head for no one to hear

Remembering the Story
This is a story
told long ago
I can't remember
what we used to know
We regret, having been placed in this spot
It's time we remember the stories we forgot
This is a story
of inconsistencies
maybe it's boring
maybe you need to believe
imagination has lost all it's affects
instant stagnation has called off all your bets
This is a story
something was told
Dean Moriarty
a man I used to know
retaliation, fear of deprivation
assassination of our intellectual nation
This is a story
Please return to me
this bloody murder
my own prophecy
He used to run. Developing
history, imagination, incompassed me
This is a story
brutality
underneath
spirtuality
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

ok so no one responded to the last one... did it suck that bad? well here's another....

Searching for Souls
It's been a long time
the drive made me have to sing
every day goes by
with everything i've ever been.

I'm used to losing mine
I used to have my day
I'm interested in all the information
and it just turns me away
I'm looking for my life
and all that I have been
I'm looking for a man
inside the pavement
living without a sin.

it's hard to find a thought
It's hard to find a feelin'
It's difficult to push me in that direction
cause then I'll fall back to your waste.
bloody drops from my lip
is this paradise you see?
Is this what you always wanted?
Is it what you want me to be?
I've fallen once again
I'm crawling like a child
I'm developing my own sense of appreciation
as I feel along this white tile.

I think I found the lost
I think I'm finally believin'
I think I'm interested in my denial
and all that I've been
I look up at your torch
A fire across the ceiling
I get up, "it's about time to stop whining"
and I run for awhile

It's been a long time
the drive made me have to sing
every day goes by
with everything i've ever been.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

would sound really good with some snazzy french horn playing in the background. :P

but yeah it would be a lot easier to hear the rythm if i could hear the song, some of it i can get just by reading but not all. i do, however, really like that first stanza. drives always make me sing.

A creative burst... let me know what you think...
The Exodus

Forget everything I've done
Forget everything I've said
Hiring hands to play with blood
Bleach my skin a poppy red
Fire back at whites of eyes
mother's they all have
cursed they've been to grow up proud
their sisters lay in halves

Forget everything I've told
Forget everything I've claimed
On this night, silence rings
and makes us all the same
Black and white,
indistinguishable thoughts
mothers, their daughters
stomachs in knots.

Forget everything I believe
Forget every truth
you my brother are just a man,
our lives from the same roots
Linger in the world below
as they all have done
by killing you it'll show
that we are really one.
