I dont understand why olp is even opening for them. why not just go on their own tour, its not like they're going to huge places that wouldnt sell out if it wasnt for 3dd....

not to mention politically Raine is the opposite of 3DD

most places they are playing are amphitheatres and well they cant sell those out....i think like 6,000 plus places there may be some exceptions.

they also are touring the midwest and west which they have very little fanbase. last tour they focused on the east coast where they have a decent fanbase. they couldnt sell out 3000 person venues in utah, new mexico, idaho, oklahoma etc...so they are trying to gain fans with 3DD just like did with creed and pearl jam on the east coast back in the day.

They did festivals and small clubs here, and it seemed to work ok for them. I think they would gain more respect if they did. But it all goes back to that strategy. Gravity vs. old school.

even if most OLP fans don't like 3DD, a lot of you of course realize that touring with them especially in the states is again opening up the doors to new fans......now the ones that have only heard SOT because it was on MTV 'n stuff can say "whoh, their other music is kick ass too" ya get what I'm saying??? Just like the whole Avril tour..

Yes, most of us don't like the fact that they're an opening act, but OLP seem to have no problem with it.

even the some of the biggest bands do atleast some opening stints. not that im a fan but linkin park and limp bizkit (who both are pretty big) are opening right now for metallica. itd be interesting to see if you organized a concert with every band in the universe who would headline.... just food for thought.

ya and really does it matter who's opening? I don't think it makes much difference, either way both bands will eventually play.

OLP will have a shorter set though... Most of this is still because of OLP not being as big as 3DD in the USA... Why else would they open for newer bands in foreign countries? I mean take the Avril tour for instance...

Exactly, I odn't want them opening for them cause they won't play as long of a set. Of course all bands open eventually, but after a while they are on their own. I've never heard of a band who has never opened for anyone else. I have no prob w/ them opening for Van Halen...but 3DD...well they are just alot better. But guess what, I don't care, as long as they come here!

actually that is a co-headlining tour with all 3 bands getting the same set times or so it was at the start. Yet the Deftones who have been a band since 1989 are opening for them... ....at least the deftones admitted they just wanted to make some extra money and do less work.
