Panjabi MC
Just picked up the new cd from Panjabi MC, "Beware", today and it is so great! Does anyone else here like/know of him? For those who don't (probably most of you) it's really unique music...I've never heard anything like it! It has a strong Indian vibe in both in musical structures and lyrics (much of it is in an Indian sounding language that I am assuming to be Sanskrit). However, it also has some obvious rap and dance influence as well.
I found a few songs for d/l on Kazza so if you want to try to find something, I would recommend "Yaaran Kollon Sikh Kuriye" if you want something with a dance type vibe.
If you're looking for something with more of a rap vibe, "Beware (Jay-Z Remix)" is great as well...don't like Jay-Z? Don't worry, I'm not a fan either, but this song is awesome!
If you'd rather a more traditional Indian sound, try "Jatt Ho Giya Sharabee" (well, maybe "traditional" is the wrong word, I really wouldn't use that word to describe anything on this album, just try to put the emphasis on the word "more"...this one has a little bit of a dance vibe as well).
Anyway, you really can't go wrong d/ling any of the songs on this album IMO...but if you like what you d/l do make an effort to go out and buy the album. Check the website out at http://www.panjabi-mc.com
Let me know what you think!

Brutus is an honorable man
It's just coincidence that oil men will wage war in an oil rich land
And this one goes out to my man taking cover in the trenches with a gun in his hand
Then gets home and no one flinches when he can't feed his fam...
But Brutus is an honorable man...

He had a song last summer?
I thought that this was his first album...or was that just a single released to radio stations?

Night Rider beat?
I never really watched the show, but I think I'd recognize the song if I heard it (I'm drawling a blank right now though) maybe I'll d/l it then listen to "Mundian To Bach Ke" again

Just out of curiosity, was it the Jay-Z remix version (with the rap; parts in English) or the original version?

If it was huge last year it couldn't be the Jay-Z version. I'm almost positive that was recorded this spring.....
Either way, Punjabi MC is alright. There are better DJ's out there that are putting those Bhangra beats with other beats. Beware of the Boys just had the perfect timing (nevermind it's catchiness) with the exposure of Indian music to the mainstream (that Truth Hurts song and some track by Redman)... and he hit it big. Good for him.

Could I have some names?
