I don't think it'll happen anytime soon... but I'm sure if a lot of CM'ers went to one show and someone let them know like a week earlier that we'd all be there then they might play it... I guess you never know, sometimes they do pull out surprises.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

i saw OLP in detriot last fall, and it was sort of before i was really into them. man, they rocked out 23 songs. i wish i knew more of their material then, because i only had 3 of the albums and didn't recognize all the songs. ever since, i've been hooked. they played automatic flowers at that show, which is fairly unusual, i think? i wish i knew the song when i heard it.
also, my seats were crap, so that didn't help
. they were supposed to film for the DVD that night...i wish i could go back...still totally pumped for their show this week though.

I think his point was that OLP doesn't have to take anything off their setlist. The Detroit show on 9-18 was amazing. They played In Repair and Automatic Flowers, not to mention Neon Crossing and The Birdman, which are four songs that not everyone gets to hear on a regular basis. And with that, they still played all the hit singles and the stuff off of Gravity. Don't act so rude or stuck up, ok?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.
well Birdman's been a staple for a while now... the other 3 weren't played all that much, and AF was barely ever played

Yeah, it was shocking when OLP came out for their encore and opened up with In Repair, then went into Automatic Flowers. Hell, it wasn't even on their setlist, which is on my wall now.

I wasn't trying to be rude or stuck up. I'm sorry if you got that impression. I just didn't understnad what he meant. I apologize.

Review on Rich&Shelley's wrote:Review by Shane
July 6, 2003
Ever get that feeling that no matter how many times you do something, it never gets old? This exact feeling arose the morning of July 6th when my buddy and I awoke to go see Our Lady Peace in Columbus. We've both seen the band every time and place they have visited in Ohio and yet again each time we get the butterflies in our stomachs and the nervousness on the way to the concert and standing at the gate to get in... anyways enough of that... now for the review.
Well this was supposed to be a huge "Bud Light Presents 3 Doors Down." YEAH RIGHT! The crowd in its entirety was there for OLP alone. I made it a point to let the band know this any given silent opportunity, which brought a smile to their faces. But seriously Columbus has a massive OLP following and every word to every song (even Our Time Is Fading) coincided right along with the harmonizing vocals pouring from Raine's mouth. In fact, he seemed awestruck as to how close we were all following and breaking into song alongside him.
I believe the show started with Julia, which was amazing for it is rarely ever played live at any of the shows I've been to in recent memory. Raine truly is an artist when he performs, rather than just standing and belting out a tune he displays raw emotion and movement at all the right times letting the crowd "feel" the song. It works excellently. Not sure if this is the correct order or not but it went as follows... Julia, Clumsy, Do You Like It, Starseed, All For You, Our Time Is Fading, SOT, Innocent... two others, I wish I could remember but being caught up in the moment of passion that comes from singing word for word with your idol can cause memory loss?!?
Every song was unique in the fact that for one, the drum and bass was shocking, your entire body was vibrant with each stroke of the drumstick or strum of Duncan's bass. Also Steve's solo's were CD quality, they were absolutely amazing what this guy can do with his equipment. And Raine's vocals and antics were what you would expect from someone you admire... something you remember for days and tell all you friends about (when he did this... amazing). All in all I would certainly rank this as one of the best smaller shows they have put on. It was also fun watching all the fans leaving after OLP so we wouldn't have to watch all the drunken 40 something's mouth along the words to "love me when I'm gone"
Another comment before signing off... the local radio station held a "Meet & Greet" with OLP in which 5 people were randomly chosen to meet with the guys. Well afterwards the band members were leaving the M & G (in a basement of a bar next door) and starting walking back to the tour buses... my friend and I were right behind them when we suddenly recognized them and tried to manage a word out (we couldn't we were awestruck). Not to worry, Duncan turned around and shot us a smile and waved, seeing that we were about 2 our of 5 people that actually recognized them. In conclusion, if any of you get the chance to meet the guys (if you haven't before) prepare what you plan to say... otherwise you'll get caught up in the moment and have a brain block with your jaw on the ground.
