GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP

Post by I AM ME »

i've been offered a job to fly down to Camrose to work security at stage 13, everythings paid for and i would probably have backstage access, problems is this, i'm a lifeguard with NO security training. I can deal with people, but not physically, i'm a fairy big guy at 6'2, but i'm only 17 1/2 and i way a whopping 155 pounds. Should i take the job for a chance to go see olp and the rest of stage 13? and possibly get backstage? once again, keep in mind i'm notthe fighter type though and i never done this before. Also any advice on how wild stage 13 gets would be usefull

Definitely take the job. You don't have to be a fighter, just drag crowdsurfers over the fence and prevent people getting hurt in the first couple of rows. You do need some strength, especially in the arms, but I'm sure you have enough of that. Have fun.

Ya man, take it for sure and then meet me and get me backstage. I work with a guy who lived in camrose last year and he said the party of camrose is HUGE as far as the whole camping thing goes... But the concert is just like any other outdoor festival, like Euro said the most you'll have to deal with is the crowd surfing etc... You won't have to fight and if you have a trouble maker there are others to help you out. Hell, I won't be working, but I'll back you up anyway!

i learned this from my dad:

when dealing with drunks, pull them toward you. drunks tend to resist by pull away from you. when they pull away, then push them anywhere you want them to go, and they'll have a hard time pushing back. lord knows how many big ass drunk mother fuckers i've kicked the crap out of in the Army. thanks dad, your an inspiration.

in other words yeah take it, use this on drunkards and just look mean, people won't fuck wit u.
Whenever death may surprise us,
let it be welcome
if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear
and another hand reaches out to take up our arms.

Nobody's gonna miss me, no tears will fall, no ones gonna weap, when i hit that road.
my boots are broken my brain is sore, fer keepin' up with thier little world, i got a heavy load.
gonna leave 'em all just like before, i'm big city bound, your always 17 in your hometown

This is one of those times when you know the answer already. Go to the concert, have fun, and bring me back a pair of boxers signed (and previously worn) by Raine. It's a win-win situation.

Did you say natives? Like native american/aboriginal/indian?

I sure hope they're as nice as you say they are. I've seen some really mean native sercurity before!! They beat up people for no reason, knocked some probably 13 year old kids tooth out and even hit a girl!

They were psychos.

Not that all native security are... but I haven't seen a lot of native security... just those guys who were on drugs or something...

If you want to do it, then go for it. If it was me though, I wouldn't. I've often considered a job at a venue (not seriously as the closest venue is about 1 1/2 hours from where I live, but I've tossed the idea around) and I've come to the conclusion that, while you will get in to all the shows for free and will get backstage a good bit, you won't really get to enjoy the show. I mean, if it's OLP, of course you're going to enjoy what you hear, but pulling crowd surfers out of the crowd and such is going to put quite a damper on the actual "fun" of the concert IMO.

Then again, you could always try to make an OLP concert be one of your first days and just totally do nothing (as far as your job) that day, enjoy the concert, and get backstage...then the next day you'd be looking for a new job

these native friends arn't actual security, this is their first job, and believe me they're the biggest pussy cats ever......well not ifyour trying to fight them, but they're not crazy or anything like you said, just very very big. oh by the way, don't let that get around though, i don't thinkthey would want people to know that, not to mention only one of the the 2 twins is the type to be gentle in a fight........the other ones a gr. 12 football lineman.....
