I'm going to have to disagree. Yes most of OLP songs are quite good live because of the energy, however, Raine's voice live just isn't what it used to be. He used to be much better live and you can hear it from year to year through all the bootlegs. Now the studio recordings as far as vocals go are better. Also, the song with the least amount of energy is Somewhere Out There, there's just no emotion when Raine sings it. There's just that something extra in the studio recording. That's my biggest beef with the live version.

Damn all you bastards!
I live in the U.S. It doesn't come out till tuesday.
That and all I have is $20. It all boils down to an oil change or the OLP cd. But wait! I get paid on wednesday....the oil change can wait! After all, I've been putting it off for weeks already. It can go another week....

except for what you said about sot, I completely disagree with you. every time i've seen olp live raine's voice has gotten better and better. in my opinion at least.

One of the reason why I think OLP is so good is becouse of their live performances. Raine may not have the greatest voice but I still really like it. It is unique and different from a lot of other artists. I also just want to add that their live album is amazing and if you haven't gotten it yet and live in Canada go get it.

Life is waiting for you it's all messed up but were alive. Life is waiting for you it's all messed up but we'll survive.
I think Raine's voice is fine live. Granted, I've only seen them twice, and both times within the past year. But it didn't sound terrible to me, it's not really the voice that does it for me (unless it's really terrible) that makes live special. It's seeing how the artist feels about it and how he expresses that emotion on stage. You lose some w/ live recordings, but you can still feel it. I think you are right on the SOT there part though, out of all the songs I've seen that one had the least energy, as well as on Live.

I've seen OLP live MANY times and that's not the only reason I think his voice isn't as good live anymore. I'm not saying he sucks live, just that his voice was better live earlier on. The bootlegs are a good way to listen to the way his voice has changed live. Just listen to bootlegs from 94,95,96, etc.. up until now. He still sounds good during most radio shows, but his voice seems to really wear out a lot easier now and that's probably why I don't think he sounds as good as he used to live.
