ok, i dont want to ruin it for you folks that havent seen it, but i have a question about the ending...i put it in black text so read it only if you've seen the movie:

how exactly did raine die or did he even? did chantal poison him or something? and if she did...why? was she that pissed off at him that he stole her song?

It took me a few watches to figure out how/why everything happened how it did, too, actually. But I did eventually figure it out, so I'll explain it allllll for you guys here (in black, as well):

Raine's locked away in his room and never comes out, Chantal comes in and starts cleaning not knowing he didn't want her there, blah blah blah, he steals her song. She sees that he takes heart medication... a lot of it, along with alcohol. She also sees that he stole her song. She knows that him trying to leave the room would make his heart go nuts because he's afraid of the outside, and she also knows that he's horny and lonely (yes, folks, the masturbation scene DID have a point!). So, she pretends to have a thing for him, and talks him into meeting her outside of the hotel, knowing that he's desperate to get laid. She shows up not long after their meeting time, knowing that his heart would've been in bad shape after trying to leave the room, and puts him over the edge by burning his music. He dies, and she ignores it. Very cool, dark, twisted little story.
