I'm skipping over the last few pages to put in my two cents.

I like the Liberal ideology, I think moderation and compromise are great qualities in a political body, and ones that are seen far too rarely. But I'm sick of this laissez-faire shit. I would like a Liberal party that actually accomplishes something. Our best PM, Laurier, was this way, no?

But more personally, I just want the PC's the fuck out of my province. I'm sick of being screwed over by those people. Take money from my education, my healthcare, and jack up your own salaries will you? No!

All they do is milk senior citizens for their votes, it's so transparent it sickens me.

i would advise you not to make comments like "i'm sick of this laissez-faire shit" when you cannot support them.

there is no province in canada, no city, no governing body at all that is remotely "laissez-faire". are you being rhetorical or do you not know the meaning of the term?

you believe you are opposed to laissez-faire capitalism but you do not know why, nor do you care to expand your thoughts on the issue. that is dangerous.

hmmm i don't mean to seem like an ass, but why is it EVERY single post made you need to somehow involve your anarchist preaching? I mean, ok we got you, you anarchy, and "we're all fools for being oppressed by our government" but could you guys just ease up a bit? by forcing your morals and ideas on us you are breaking your own anarchist ideals

I do have to say... calling laissez-faire a bad thing is quite surprising....

i am not forcing my morals or my ideals on you. forcing would be showing up at your house with a gun and demanding you recite john galt's pledge.

this board is my stomping ground. i will let no remark which directly challenges my beliefs go unrebutted. from now on, if you're going to says some tired old line like "communism works in theory" or "i hate capitalism", you'd best be prepared to defend it to the grave.

the only thing i am trying to "force" you to do is think. so many people these days wander around spitting out this rhetoric without even giving it a second thought. they claim to be politically inclined, but their entire political thought process is something like this:

"hmmm... being left wing is hip right now... communism is way far left wing... but it doesn't work... i know! i'll say it works in theory! and i hate capitalism".

and that is the end of it. asked why they believe these things and most of these people will draw a blank. interestingly enough, instead of stopping to actually consider WHY they "feel" this way, they become defensive and toss out unresearched, unthinking "defenses" to the challenge to their beliefs. this is also called being close minded.

personally, i find this response amusing and enjoy provoking it. the fact is that if most of you actually thought about your political views and were open to new ideas, you'd all be anarchists by now.

actually i'm not a person that chose my views due to them being "hip" i've always thought this way since i was young, now i've found a government that fits my ideals. Maybe it's because i'm a moarlist, but socialism is what i believe to be right, in my views, sharing and helping people is what we should be doing, there should be equality, true equality. I do relize that the left wing has been abused by a few nations in history, but calling down the leftist ideas because of a few instances is insane. All government have had such instances of evil and misuse. whether it be Monarchy, Republic, Socialism, Communism, Facism, and even the all might Anarchy could have many things go very wrong. In fact in history when nations or cities have falen into anarchy how well have us humans dealt with it?? i think we've dropped the ball on that one to many times to reasonably try to pull it off in the near future on a large scale.

as for this being your stompingground which justifies your constant bonbardment of political ideals on the yet undecided, or those with weak beliefs. That's bullshit, people should be able to look at ALL governments neutrally and choose the one which best suits there ideals, WITHOUT the pressure of people constantly. Again about the "stomping grounds" I've been here longer then you, does that entitle me to act like a holier then though vulcan?

you're making some strong statements, but i ask you, if you're not interested in defending your beliefs, why bother?

Maybe it's because i'm a moarlist, but socialism is what i believe to be right, in my views, sharing and helping people is what we should be doing, there should be equality, true equality.

care to enter into a discussion about this statement? probably not. you'll probably tell me to "respect your opinion" and leave it with that.

well, put bluntly, i don't respect your opinion, no more so then joe_candian respects mine. i respect your right to an opinion but i have no respect for your position. if you want me to respect your position, you're going to have to show me that it is right.

as for this being your stompingground which justifies your constant bonbardment of political ideals on the yet undecided, or those with weak beliefs. That's bullshit, people should be able to look at ALL governments neutrally and choose the one which best suits there ideals, WITHOUT the pressure of people constantly.

i'm sorry, but if you're going to make a political statement in a forum that i am part of, in a topic called "politics", you'd better be prepared to deal with my response. if you're not, don't bother even showing up.

give me your reasons why it is wrong, and don't give me all the dictator BS, because if you can talk all theory so can i. As for...

i was talking about your general persona on the board, it's not just this topic where we see your anarchist views, i respect you for having your own mind and trying to share your ideals with us, but your only bombarding us with your ideals in every aspect of this part of the forum. Really i don't expect you to just sit quietly and not discuss your beliefs but you force them on us all everyday, and act holier then thou the entire time your doing it calling us irrational. the idea of humans without greed is irrational.

As for my belief being based on trendyness last time i checked it wasn't the NDP dominating Federal Politics, and in fact my part of the province is considered a "blue ocean of conservitism" in manitoba. In fact, it's a bunhc of rebellious kids that go around putting anarchy signs on stuff and ranting about how cool anarchy is just because it's the hip thing to do when you into metal and punk. I'm by no means calling you one of those sad little lost children, because you have a very good grasp of politics, but to call my views trendy are ludacris.

i also regret saying you were a "holier than thou Vulcan" it was low and immature, but in some posts that's what you sound like.
