Not sure if this is the place to post it but..

Post by ihatethunderbay »

..I'm doing a music project on OLP, and I need 2 good pictures of Chris. Also, I can play one song during my presentation. Any suggestions as to which one? My class doesn't like OLP all that much, so I'm looking to make some believers out of a few of them.

And if this is the wrong place to post it, forgive my stupidity. I'm new

Nope, this is a good place to post it. :)

What instrument do you play?

I dont know what kind of crowd they are, but i would play one of their singles to get them hooked.....maybe Superman's Dead or One Man Army
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

Whoops... When I said 'play one song during my presentation' I ment from a CD.. Although I am trying to learn to play the solo on 4AM... Hehe.. Anyway.. Yeah.. The guitar makes my fingers hurt :(

Anyway, that's about enough of my rambling.

My project's going to be the best because it's on OLP

Definately go for something catchy but pre-Gravity.

As for Chris pictures, I don't think there are many out there, other than a few Naveed era promo shots and video screen-shots.

Okay, Thanks!

I suppose I've narrowed my song choices down to: Starseed, Naveed, Superman's Dead, Clumsy, One Man Army, Is Anybody Home?, Right Behind You, and Life.

Come to think of it, that's not really narrowed down at all.

Oh well. My project is still going to be the best

Go Naveed! Somewhat "antiquish OLP" but none the less still amazing.....

I would love to play Naveed, but, the thing is, it's quite long! Our presentations are I think 7 minutes at the very most. I wouldn't want to have to cut Naveed short so I could start yakking again, but, I think I'll play Superman's Dead. If it doesn't convert anyone, I think It'll at least freak a few of the Pop fans out :P

I have to deal with converting people to OLP fandom all the time, considering no one around me is really that familiar with them.

I'd choose: Life (catchy, closer to your classes' musical tastes probably, and is pure OLP), or Superman's Dead (huge cult classic, no other OLP song is as catchy in my book, getting people to remember one song is usually the best way to lead them the path of OLP....).

If your class is full of people who aren't very tolerant of different tastes I'd go Life, but under any other cases Superman's Dead is the best way to get OLP stuck in someone's head. Good luck!

I was in awe the first time I heard SD, because I'd never heard anything like it before!

i dont know exactly how it happened for me either...but im pretty sure the first song i heard by them was clumsy or sd. and if i heard sd first it was the video. im sure of that. and then my friend brought over her clumsy cd and i kept wanting to listen to sd again and again...then i went and bought clumsy and happiness...at the same time. and then naveed some time later.

i remember liking Superman's Dead when it first came out (and i was only 10!)...but i never really did anything about it...didn't buy an album or anything...i also remember reading some rather large newspaper article on them around that time too...and seeing the Automatic Flowers video on Muchmusic...gee i wish i'd bought Clumsy then...stupid 10 year olds

and use Superman's Dead...still my favourite OLP song...
