"Partial birth" abortions
"Partial birth" abortions
Though, in general I am fairly against abortion, there are a few cases where I believe it may be justified. However, I'm not sure I'm too keen on this partial birth thing, it seems a bit cruel. What does everbody else think?

Yes, that makes sense. However, the argument (that I don't necessarily agree with) is that in some circumstances something may go wrong and then the mother's health is at risk if she gives birth to the baby, maybe a last minute thing. Who's life do you sacrifice? The baby or the mother?

In that case it's a toss-up. Will the mother die? Will the baby die even if it is born? Will the baby have debilitating defects if it is born?
There are a lot of factors that would have to be taken into acount by the doctor and family (and the mother if she is in the condition to make such a huge decision).

That is the question. Given those circumstances, do you still agree with the law? Personally, I don't. I believe it is still a form of murder if the baby is on its way out of the womb.

I disagree with abortions because a fetus is still a living thing. If I were ever to get pregnant I would still have the child no matter what the circumstances. And back to what they mentioned earlier about if you had to choose between the mother or the child to live, I would choose to have the child live because it still has its hole life ahead of him/her where the mother has lived a part of her life. I personally would rather have my child survive then me.

I know I'm going to get hammered for this, but i think that it should be a personal choice, abortions choices have become too public, it should be the mother's choice and i know it is, but when the media is influencing everybody so much it makes me question if the mothers are actually making the decisions for themselves or just to please other people

But seriously, I kind of agree with you. Outside influences are swaying people's decisions.
However, what's the difference between killing a "fetus" when it's head is out or killing it a day or two later? There isn't a difference. I mean, I'm pro-choice, but that choice has to be made a lot sooner than the time of birth (depending, of course, on the conditions).

i agree, i thik seeing as how i'm a man i have no business in the issue, and i have no idea of the situation because i have never been in it. Therefore, i leave it up to the mother to decide. BUT waiting this long IS wrong to me, because the baby is fully developed and basically the same as a born one

But then that philosophical question comes in... How late is too late? Where does one draw the line?
Just like if you have the chance to save many adults or a few children. Many would think, "Save the children, they're so young, they have their whole lives ahead of them". But where does one draw this line? Who are we to judge at what age a life becomes less important than another? But at the same time, we, as humans, do draw that line of our own accord.
These issues become so complex when dealing with life and death, especially that of young lives.
