It has just occured to me. Wouldn't it be awesome if Chantal performed some hardcore OLP song like Starseed? Man, what a hardocre rollicking girl she'd be. On the flip side, I'd like Raine to sing "Surrounded" just for comic value.

seeing wonderful future live was, on its own, completely worth the trip to villanova.

I have never heard of a setlist where they played it. Have they? If so, when?

THE STORY OF A 100 AISLES
From what I heard they played this a couple of times, but it didn't sound good so they stopped playing it. Is that true?

ANNIE
Also, I heard they played this a couple of times... habe they?

THE WONDERFUL FUTURE
I heard they have in fact played it... oh damn, I wish I had a recording of it :D

ALL MY FRIENDS
Have they ever played this one? I have no clue...

Cheers.

As far as I know from seeing shows and friends who did, these are the songs OLP never did live.

Off Naveed( Is It Safe)
We actaully asked Duncan this and he said he never palyed it, plus out of all the shows i heard with Chris It has never been done live.

Off Clumsy:
as far as I know- Story of 1000 aisles.
Big Dumb Rocket was rearly done, but done at some Naveed tour shows as *Disgusted*

Off Happiness:
I did hear that ANNIE was done once, but it was hard for Raine to sing. All the songs have been done live off this cd. Happiness and Consquences of laughing were done a few times, and Potato Girl wasn't done as much as it could of been done.

Off Spiritual Machines:
All My Friends is the only song I have yet to see being done, or hear of being done. A few have said TWF, was done at Villinova, and I think another show. Made To Heal was done at a few shows (only about 2 USA shows), but done on the CLUB CRAWL TOUR. but not much.

Off Gravity:
Sell My Soul, Sorry and Made of Steel(although done in some soundchecks)

I have been lucky enough to see almost all their songs from seeing them over the years. Best was seeing Imagine done live. That was cool.

Hope that helps. .

OK, now the important part is, will anyone on the board send me "Made To Heal" "Made Of Steel" and "The Wonderful Future" please? If you have them, it would be nice to share with me.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I don't understand why they record tunes that are hard to perform live :freak: I think it's amazing when a band manages to play all songs live...

Anyway...
Why not play Is It Safe? Nothing too complicated about this one... I can understand Annie though, that one might kill Raine...

Made To Heal, I have this one live, if anyone wants to download from me... I'm on the hub as olponline.
Funny thing about this Made To Heal version I have is that when the tune finishes, you can clearly hear someone shouting "THE WONDERFUL FUTURE" in the middle of the crowd... seems like fans like this song :P

Does anyone love TRAPEZE as much as I do?

Cheers.

It's possible that, since Duncan says that he doesn't play it, that he actually can't play it. *shrugs*

Gah, I knew never joining the hub would kick me in the ass after a while. I need to hear this song, so if anyone can hook me up outside of the hub, you can have my children.

its probably cause duncan joined the band after naveed was recorded, and they never played it with chris, so there was no sense in teaching him it.
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

One thing I had been wondering about for a while...
As a band, do they have to transcribe all their tunes into sheet music and then resgister it?

How exacly do new members learn a band's tunes? From hearing it and being taught by other members or by sheet music?

What do you guys think?

Cheers.

I would guess it's sheet music. I mean, learning 20 or so songs to play each night would be pretty tough if done by just ear. I mean, listening to each note and how many times it was played would drive me insane after a while. Anyways, trying to memorize everything, including all the fills, by just ear, would be horrendously mind dullingly painful.

from what i heard mike taught the songs to steve. as for duncan, i think it may be easier for a bass player, coz as long as they get the main points of a part they are more free to change parts up without anyone noticing.

I think Mike did help Steve out with learning the songs. That's why they don't play a lot of the older songs now; Steve just hasn't learned them. I don't blame him, either. Learning how to play all of the songs he that he had to - correctly - is hard enough. I think it's great that he picked it all up so quickly. That's talent.
