You are somewhat right. I get certain privledges. For example I have a Tax Card. With this card I can go to any reserve and use it buy gas cheaper. Also I can use my Status card helps with my medical issues. ex,dental. I can also use my Status Card when I buy stuff. ex. i go to a store and buy $450 TV(tax included) If I show my card, I wouldnt have to pay the tax, just the original amout for the TV. Since I live far away from My reserve, I can't use my card to its full potential. My reserve is located next to a major town centre and my card would be accepted there.

As of now Treaty 8 First Nations is trying to pass a law, that would allow Natives, who are living off the reserve, will not have to pay income tax. Also, in some places, Natives are trying to pass a law, where Natives who have worked on crown land and have paid income tax(while working on that crown land) are trying to pass a law, so that the Income Tax that they had to pay, would be re-inbersed. EX. My old man worked on Crown Land for 21 years, so he would get back roughly $250k. I doubt that this will happen though.

If I was working on my reserve I wouldnt not have to pay income Tax, so if I made $50k a year, I get $50k a year. Also,Natives who live on their reserves barely pay for anything. I beleive it just water and power. So...that as they say is that.

As for being 1/8 indian. Wrong. It doesnt matter how many parts Native one is.

EX. I marry a white woman and have two kids. My kids would be Status Indian and so will, their kids and so on and so fourth.

One girl at work used extensions but my hair is long enough so I don't need those and her hair wasn't ruined .. another girl only kept them in for a couple of weeks and her hair seemed fine too. I've wanted to do this for so long so I'm willing to risk it. I'm hoping to be able to keep them in for at least a month .. with the amount it's costing me I don't care how much my head itches, they aren't coming out

It does not matter. You were born a status Indian and it does not matter where you live.

I'm not too sure what its like in tthe States though.

holy hell i was just looking at the newsweek list of top 100 public schools in the country and #1 was IA in my town...i have a lot of friends who go there, however "public" is a misleading. their school curriculum is geared toward the international baccaloriate test and if you get a C average, you are sent back to your home school (the school you would be assigned to if you didnt get picked [by lottery] to attend IA), no joke.
