Yeah, Our Time is Fading was a little rough on the ol' ears for me.
I mean I liked the raw sound of it.. but it was a little too raw.
Almost like how all of my friends' bands sounded back when I was like 16 or something.
... Ok not that bad, but you get the idea

Hey, and while we're on the topic of the band's changing sounds (and since i started a new page anyway)...
Is it just me, or does anyone else miss Raine's whining? The only thing that comes close is the "I" in Innocent... you know, when he goes "EEYYEE remember feeling low, and EEYYEE..."
I miss the Car Crash style whines

It's definitely not just you. I love his whining so much, I really miss it.

I am tired of reading how people say they don't like the band anymore, then stop listening to them. I am not saying you aren't entitled to not liek the new stuff or the direction, but afterwahile it is tiresome to read it over and over. Move on then. I have outgrown alot of bands I never thought I would.
I think we're all entitled to our opinions...this board is set up in away that if you dont want to ready about a topic you can simply neglect to enter it...just like that. obviously people are still worried about the future of the band, and in an OLP BOARD they should be able to express their worries without question....and i don;'t think any of us have OUTGROWN olp. OLP have evolved into something new, and alot of us havent or never will move in that direction. They've made some pretty amazing music in their career so far and if for that reason only, we should support them regardless. what ever happend to fan loyalty? I dont think any of us should, as you put it , "stop being a fan" ...as far as we know they could make a total turn around in the future, we know its in their capabilities to make the incredible music they have in the past. I dont mean to come off as negative, i dont think any on here truly hates the music they made on gravity, you cant really hate olp. We're just so passionate about the band that the thought of them coming to an end or slipping musically...leaves us kind of speechless and sad. i have every right to be upset and you trying to shut me up isnt going amke that go away

I don't think the person was really saying stop being a fan. I think they were questioning how you are still a fan if you are so unhappy with everything the band seems to do.
I will agree there are alot of changes taking place within the band now. I personally like the new song I heard* Not Afraid*. I look forward to the cd when it comes out.

Thier past cd's were what sparked my love of music....so i think out of loyalty and curiosity, even if their next...3!...cds sucked id still stick right in there. The way she sayed it just made me feel a little hostile i guess

we're basing too much on Not Afraid. Think about back a few years when they were playing Disgusted (Big Dumb Rocket). That song is by no means the best song on Clumsy (it may be in your opinion but for the most part it's not) Then look at when Life and EAJ were played at Summersault, those two songs were great but ended up being two of the more simple songs on the album in terms of lyrics, range of vocals and guitar (maybe not EAJ but definately Life) I don't think we can base an album on one song that we don't even know will be on the cd. It probably will be but still.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Very well said.
