Gravity might not be my favorite slice of OLP's work, but it's still great stuff, and I'm not dumb enough to give up on a band I've supported for close to a decade just because one of the albums didn't reach my unrealistically high expectations.

Its almost guaranteed that it won't be a "Gravity 2" No two of their albums are alike. Each album has its own identity. Chances are there are OLP fans that like all albums but Naveed, or all albums but SM.... (of course ALL OLP fans LOVE Clumsy :D ) That's the great thing about OLP, if there is an album that you don't like as much you can be sure to have a chance of liking the next because it will be taken to a whole new direction.

well said corey. every our lady peace cd is another musical/emotional journey. the bands seems to have a certain vibe for every cd which is why i can handle gravity, the music is good and even though it is maintstream, i still find it as fun to listen to as all the others.

there is no album that sounds even close to another one. thats why if i listen to a ton of olp for a long time, i will never get sick of them, except perhaps one album, and then even then im back on it in no time.

i promise that album numero six wont sound the same as gravity because its just not possible because they grow so much between every album. maybe we didnt like the direction they went in for gravity, but there will definatly be a new direction this time around, thats just olp for ya! :)

Well, with songs like Talk is Cheap and Not Afraid under its belt, this album is already guaranteed an A+!

On a side note, you can really see how Gravity was used as a starting place for them to evolve their new sound.

I totally agree with that Furious George. I think Gravity was just an experimentation...........simply made to lead to develop a new path. It seems to be working after hearing those songs. I'm not to big on Our Time Is Fading however. Maybe a studio version will change my mind but its sounds kinf of blah so far.

i think our time is fading isnt the greatest right now, but i think if they work on it for a studio version, it could turn out a really good song.

that one could go either way though. depends how much they are willing to change it. its the only one of their songs ive ever listened to and wished i was their producer because i actually have some ideas on how to improve the song. :)

I don't like Our Time Is Fading. But I know it's on their new CD. Maybe I, like everyone else, need a studio recording. Listening to the live one makes me have a head ache.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I don't think OTIF will be on the new album cause was it not written for Gravity?

Was I the only one that could barely hear Talk Is Cheap?
after about a minute all you could hear was noise over the music
