umm..this might be a stupid question , but whats "XD" mean? [/quote:lxia27w3]
I have wanted to know the same thing for the longest time, but never got to asking. I figure it was a face with it's eyes closed, but i'm not sure.
Most of my friends don't really know who OLP is. Although some of them are starting to like them because I forced my cousin to put Is Anybody Home on their warmup tape and I figured that's a good one for people to hear. Now, the girls basketball team all likes them but the boys don't really seem to care for them much. Other than that, I don't know why people wouldn't like them. My parents can't stand them because of Raine's voice. My mother once said that his voice sounds like her gall bladder operation.... How she relates Raine and an operation, I will never know but it's not very flattering on Raine's part.
Don't say we're healing when it's just not what we do...

From what I know, Raine's voice might be the problem. Though I love Raine's voice to fucking death, it's not...well...What people are used to.
As reviewers have said, Raine's voice is one of those things you either love or hate, and there is no inbetween.
Oh, and I forgot. I met a girl in my math class who noticed my OLP shirt, and immedietly yelled "Oh, I love them! Clumsy is my favorite song!!". Needless to say, I was elated .

[quote:1qovw3tx]Raine's voice is fucking amazing. That's all there is to it.[/quote:1qovw3tx]
I agree. But not everyone thinks that way X_x...It's evil, eh?
In all serious, I loved Raine's voice from the moment I heard it. Didn't care that it was nasally. I actually think that the nasal-ness gives it character, LOL. And his falsetto blows me away, ROFL! Few guys can pull that off, besides Darren Hayes.
I just love his voice, and nothing will change my mind XD.
About using "gay" as an insult, that is one of the stupidest, most ignorant things a person can do. People just fling it around like its an insult or taboo, and its really offensive. Some of my good friends just happen to be gay and I love them to pieces! I scream at my mom whenever she uses the f-word (f*g), she has a major ignorance streak in her.

uh. I totally agree. A coworker and i were talking about how weird our friends were yesterday and this girl came up to us and said "you guys think your friends are weird? I just found out this girl i know LIKES OTHER GIRLS! Isn't that strange?"
I really wish people would think more often about what they are saying. The other day my sister comes up to me and she says, "you know that one junior girl" "need more information" "you know the gay one" "oh! ok, now that i know who you're talking about...."

I'm not sure if anyone hates them...one of my friends do, he likes Thief and nothing else from this band, I guess Thief has the mildest rhythms, but it also has dark themes in it. I don't talk much about the band in school. Well, when I know that most people like Nickelback and Default, how can I talk about OLP...
my friends like a couple of songs or have never heard them. some of my friends think my response (of extreme anger) when they say that olp sucks or that they r gay. the thing that gets me is that they never listen to olp or have only listened to the clumsy cd (number four in my list of fav olp cd's)yes i realize that there are only four, meaning clumsy;s my least fav
More people like OLP than we give credit for. Cliques and fads have almost banished the though of liking a Canadian band, who does not swear every second word. Its almost unthinkable! But deep down, people like them. They just won't admit it.[/color:21bpvjuo] .

You're probably right.
Americans really need to stop ragging on Canadians. Seriously. I don't, but I know plenty of people who do. Hell, when I told a kid I was going to Quebec (a costly school trip), he said "Why would you pay $400 to go to Canada?" and laughed at me.
LOL, I'll shutup.

I'm not really sure wether my friends like them or not.. every once in a while they'll say olp sux (to peeve me off) or they'll say they herd a song and liked it. i was talking about them once and my one friend came up to me and told me that he herd starseeed and loved it. i should influence him more...
as for people not likeing olp, i think theyre more used to nomal bands.... but olp is different. they differ from every other band, as alot of other rock sounds the same... and i know someone, that thinks raines voice is whiney, in fact i know alot... raine (and he said this) um.... he idolizes female singers because they can just carry their voice (ie. christina aguilera, she can just hit a note and carry it on and it sounds pretty good) but raine noticed that no guy singer does that. he does that! thats what people don't like... don't ask me why because i think it's fantastic.. if only more guys would stand out and stop trying to fit in
