About the shifting era thing...
It's only May. The next album (and therefore studio single) won't be out until either December or early next year. That's at least 7 months with no OLP single. I think OTIF could be released now and die off before album #6. I mean, we're not talking about a catchy song that all the little kids/young teens are going to keep requesting. OTIF is a much less radio-friendly track than Gravity's singles, meaning it will probably leave the spotlight more quickly. But it would still be able to bridge the gap between the seldomly played Made of Steel and the first single off of album #6.

That distortion mic was so cool
absolutely! That friggin' rocks!
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

Young man at the back of the door
He says he's alright, but he still wants more
And then this old man at the side of the house
He says he's okay, he's okay, he's okay
Young man at the back of the door
He says he's alright, but he still wants more
And then this old man at the side of the house
He says he's okay, he's okay, okay
He's okay, he's okay

He says he's alright, but he still wants more
And then this old man at the side of the house
He says he's okay, he's okay, he's okay
Young man at the back of the door
He says he's alright, but he still wants more
And then this old man at the side of the house
He says he's okay, he's okay, okay
He's okay, he's okay

hehe
I also love the extended bridge in some of the live Birdmans...
I see the man
He's standing there
And oh this man's a liar
I see the man
He's stuck in there
And oh this man's a liar
I see the man
He's standing there
And oh I see the man
He's standing there
And oh I see the man
I see the man...
I see the man...
I see the man...
I see the man...
Oh
I feel him
I feel him close
I feel him, I
I feel him, oh...
CLOSE!

ya and in the birdman he sometimes does...
See the mold
of the man that you hate
that you didn't even know
cause it's all on the outside

I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
