having never seen any Star Wars movies I made my comments assuming these people were serious and that it was a type of religion/faith.

I apologize for both assumptions

It's just so sad that your taking a simple joke in this way, and with such ignorance too.

well, i never really said the "Jedi Religion" was one of killing and what not. if you read my other post i consider all religion (and if what you say is true, this excludes Jedi) a bad idea. the reason i think all religions are a bad idea is because some dumbass with no life, or a clue is going to kill/enslave someone and say it's all in the name of their god. (And this includes Christianity big time!) There is no mention by me that Jedi = killing religion. there is however, a claim that every religion has had someone killed in the name of their god. so really what's your claim here?

(something tells me he's one of the people who wrote "Jedi" on their census as their religion)

Mabye you should research a little into your religions before you start generally putting them down. Yes people have killed in the name of their God, but people have also killed in the name of their government, moral standing and ethics. People are people and even those belonging to religion will do horrible things just like everyone else.

Am i wrong? Religion is suppose to be this grea thing that is suppose to bring peace to people of their faith, but it hardly ever happens. Every Religion has a bloody past, and i find it ironic that something often considered this "good", has blood on it's hands. Government isn't suppose to be this all great thing, and morals change from one person to the next. Add these two numbers up and they won't match the number of people killed by religion.

Not everyone with a religion actually follows what their religion says. Christianity does not say "go out and kill all of those who do not believe what you do", but it happened.

but have you noticed that Christians always want to "Save" or convert people? it's like they look down on you if your of a different religion. why is that? because Christians are told that everyone else except them will burn in hell. Islamic extremist are the same way. I have this one friend that ALWAYS factors religion into everything. like the war:

Me: how about that were at fucking war man!
Friend: yeah, this guy on TV who see's visions from god said that were going to win the war.
Me: it's pretty fucking obvious man, were going to win, i can't believe someone on TV had to tell you that.
Friend: No were going to win because Christians are fighting non-christians and god is going to take care of the Christians.
Me: what are you stupid? this isn't a holy war, what the fuck is wrong with you?
Friend: and that if we stay in Iraq longer then 2005 Jesus is going to come back and the end of the world is going to happen.
Me: :wtf: your a dumass dude, and i bet you sent that guy like $100 and shit right?

seriously, people take religion a little too far sometimes. ^ this is an example. and it's this kind of thought process where religion over common sense that makes religion dangerous. i'm a catholic, i rarely go to church, and i repent my sins, not through the father but on my own. i do the lent thing and holy week and what not, but religion is not 24/7 to me. and like you said, there alot more other people who have faith and don't take it to extreme levels. it's the crazies in EVERY religion that we need to worry about, and they make religion al together look like a bad idea.

Hang on... not all Christians go around "saving" people. Those Christians are known as "Born Again" Christians. It is like their goal in life to convert as many people as possible and it is really freaking annoying. I wish people would just keep their beliefs to themselves. One of my classmates is like that and he keeps trying to get me to go to these events of his. Me being a nice guy kept telling him I couldn't, usually with an excuse until finally I lost it and said "Listen, that's just not my sort of thing" Personally, I am Methodist and we don't even talk about Hell. It's almost as if we don't believe in Hell. Methodism is all about community. We have social events where you get to know other people and after every service, we have refreshments.

I have my issues with the Catholic church and out of respect for Reno, I won't get into them. My girlfriend is Catholic actually.

yeah this guy used to go to Church of Christ, then to Ladder day sants and now it's this little white hut where they play rock music and preech. it's almost a cult seriously! it's not just the music but like the feeling that these people are spaced out and brain washed. but anyway this guy kept trying to convert me or something and he would use these lame ass scare tactics. like i'm going to hell and i'm not one of the saved or whatever, i think it's a horrible idea for a religion to do that.

oh i got alot of issues with the Catholic church, by their standards i'm not really a good catholic, but whatever! i do my thing my way and i don't need to put up with rules on how/what/when to pray or worship.
