gail, you have no right to tell people that they should stop being fans. if you are tired of reading about this shit then move on and don't post. how do you know so much about the band? how do you know what really went on between the band and mike turner? the only people who would know this are the band members and maybe a few close friends, and i dont believe you fall under either of those categories. i have met you in person, and found you to be obnoxious.

the same thing with me. matt is trying new things and making his views known. obviously, i dont want OLP to be the same as him, that would be boring. but he has gone out and completly reinvented himself and is sounding better than ever.
OLP, on the other hand, seems to be rushing their music out and not letting it reach its own potential.
I am as hardcore a fan now as ever, and just because i like, say, clumsy more than gravity does not mean i'm a 'bad fan'. why is everyone so hung up on what is the newest? old music can be just as good as new, possibly even better. what makes music truely amazing is not how big of a hit it is, but its longevity. only the true greats are still as good years later.

Bands now-a-days are told only to release stuff every two years or so. A long time ago it was normal for bands to release albums every year, so OLP putting out two cd's in about a year and a half isn't rushing by any means

going to olp shows is still the best thing in the world for me, it just sickens me to see olp doing what they're doing now, when i think they're capable of so much more, it seems like they giving into popculture and record companies, and maybe that just me but i thought olp have WAY more potential then what they're using, but hey maybe i was wrong, maybe this IS there best possible work, at least lots of you people think so......I just thought that IME and MG had nothing olp didn't.....but now people keep telling me this is there best work, and this is what they truly always wanted. It's just a let down because i thought olp was so much more, and now i'm finding out maybe they're not if this is there true art..
PS i'm just a crazy musican, music means more to me then just something to listen to, it's a art, and when they "simplified" it's like a artist simplfying from painting masterpieces to painting peoples houses nice colors.

If you must know I spoke to them last year about MIKE.
As for saying stop being a fan. I feel if someone is so unhappy with a band's music then why listen to it. It is no different i then if you stop liking anything else.

I get the inside olp scoop from jenny and stace. nothing gail has said has ever turned my head or made my light bulb go off, but for those of you who want to worship her go for it. I just think sometimes she acts like she knows them a little more than she does. I've heard some whacked things from her in person.
anyways, i kinda feel mean so im going to back away and put on my armor. Ill be ok though because it's just a message board. i don't get too worked up about it, like some ppl. you can say whatever you want. fire away.

Gail - I'm sorry I don't know you as well as I really don't know Theo a whole lot either, but I think ya need to check yourself. Yes I can tell that you've met the band, you've been to as many OLP shows as I wish I could possibly go to.........but I think naming it "jealousy" is a bit much.

I do not act like i know them better then I do. I do not pretend to know them the way Stece does or even Jenny or Tanya. I only know what I know from when I talk to them. I like to know what these whack things are. Everthing I ever told anyone isn't really on the personal level of the band, but music related.
I don't want people to worship me. I actually hate having strange people come up to me asking me if I am gail. I don't need anybody's approval or acceptance. I also am not trying to make anyone light bulbs go off.
as I ahve said I don't need acceptance from fans on a message board.
also if you guys dislike me so much. Do me a big favor and don't talk to me at shows or anything like that. I perfer not to be bothered by people I don't know. I am there to see the band and enjoy the music. Not make friends. I have enough friends.
ANd with that note, this is my last post on the CM. I only came her occasionally in the beginning, but the people i like are gone and the other people I talk to don't like the CM, so goodbye and have fun with the band this summer.
