Yes, it WOULD be weird to follow them to Hawaii.

no weirder then when I saw them in Europe last year.

I am not a stalker and resent that remark. SERIOUSLY, I do.

I do not stalk the band. Besides when I saw them last month, Raine was actually telling me to come out to the shows, and such. It was funny. He wasn't asking me -he was telling me. Now who is stalking who.

I still have nothing but love for you   :D

I just really hate the remarks I get from people because Ifollow OLP. It bothers me because I have friends who follow bands. I have two friends who are seeing Pearl Jam throughout the USA this summer, and a few friends going over to Europe to see someone.

Sorry, I was just joking there. :)

But really, there's a difference between going to a [public] show in Europe and a [private] studio in Hawaii...

I forgive you. :D
I am not going to Hawaii. and if I was, The last thing I want to do is wait for OLP all day. There is so much to do in Maui. I was kidding because I am on vacation in a few weeks, so I said where is the studio again. I was being sarcastic. Actaully if I go anywhere I am going to Vegas. I also had friends who went to AUstralia when their favorite band was recording. I am actually probably goint to Hawaii in 2005. Next year is AUSTRALIA.

Ahh, to be Gail. I wish I had the money (and time) to follow OLP around the world. :P It must be nice to be personal friends with the band members. *envious*

I don't have a problem with live feel, as long as they do another take when it sounds sloppy. And finish writing the lyrics before recording it.

I wouldn't exactly say I am *PERSONAL FRIENDS* with them. Not by a long shot. I am a *FRIEND* in a way that they know who I am and put me on the list for the shows, and talk to me and things like that. I can get away with a little more then some fans. THt is just how the band is. TO them *FRIEND* means someone they know and are familar with who comes out to the shows. Which is fine and all. I do love and appreciate them though. They have done a lot for me over the years.

ok, so with this whole recording like bbts, one guitar track, etc. thing, here is what i think. when i listen to bbts, i could be wrong, but i swear in some parts that there are a least three guitars going on, so could that be steve, jaime, and mike? or were some of these parts overdubed? i'm not sure. but if you listen to the song during the guitar solo, i'm almost convinced that there are three parts. in any case, what i figure is that what they MAY do in order to have more guitar tracks, is do one basic track live, with drum, bass, vocals, and one guitar (or two if raine or maybe even mike e plays), and then add extra parts as overdubs. i think this would be especially useful for, say, a solo that may require extra takes. furthermore, we know that there were overdubs on bbts, since there were strings (and i doubt that the strings were done live with olp). i don't know all that much the recording process but that's how my band will be recording an EP this summer (*cough*we're called phyvel*cough*buy our music*cough*please*cough*). anyway, that's just my take on things.

neoncrossing wrote:It doesn't matter what is on it, i will buy it, cause it is by OLP, so it will obviously be amazing!!!!!!!

Sorry for being unclear...I didn't mean that I'm not going to buy #6, there's no question there! What I meant was that if the *best of* cd has only songs that I already have and the same exact versions, I doubt I'll shell out the cash for that. If it had a studio (or even live) recording of one of the 3 songs I mentioned, or something completly new, I'd definatly buy it

i would have a while back. a special edition gravity, best of cd, live cd, and dvd seems a lot to handle buying everything before anything new.

I'm kinda not liking this live studio approach. I like the happiness/sm/some of clumsy sound of going over everything and adding in a hole bunch of stuff to their music, not the simple approach.
