blah...I'm sure you're all starting to wonder hahaha but I haven't beat the freakin crappy weather. Gimmie just another day or two and I promise I'll get the tribute cd on the hub.

I feel terrible.....but this stuffs kickin my butt.

The hub's p2p, but some of us download just about everything and keep it in our shared files, so once the tribute CD is on the hub it is very unlikely that it will just disappear.

I got my copy of the tribute CD yesterday. I liked "Whatever", "Julia", "Automatic Flowers" and "Not Enough". There's a lot of crap on this CD though, just horrible quality and singing. It's worth it for the four songs I mentioned however.

I'm glad to hear that you liked those four, but you seem to have missed the point of the cd. The idea was certainly not to play the songs as good or better than OLP or to be an absolutly amazing musician. The idea was to honor this great band. As it says on the site, the quality level varies from artist to artist both in the recording quality and experience level. However, I feel that every person on the tribute did the best they could with the experience level and equipment they had. I also noticed that 3 of the 4 you mentioned were full band songs (with the 4th, Julia, being my personal favorite on the cd...I never expected to get anything that professional sounding) So the fact that you picked the full band versions gives me the idea that you were looking for the covers to sound like OLP sounds. No offence, but if you want that, why not pop an actual OLP cd in?

I hope you don't take this message the wrong way, but perhaps you can listen to the whole cd again with the understanding that, although several of the contributors are amateur musicians, we all did our best to honor one of our favorite bands!

hmm, to my knowledge it's not. It was clumsy_congressman who was going to put it up and he said that he received the tribute a little while ago. He's probably just busy with school or work or whatever it is he does. I'm sure he'll post here when he gets it up, but it can't hurt to go on the hub and browse the files he's sharing :nod:

I'd do it myself, but I am not sure how to alter the ID3 tags other than like the album name and he said he was going to put all the artists names and maybe even a link or address of the website. Plus (I may have said this before), I'm on a 56k modem that seldom gets over a 28.8 connection...go figure :neutral:

If I find out that it's up there and no one's posted yet, I'll be sure to let you know!
