My play opened!!!!

Post by thirdhour »

The play that I'm in finally opened last night! Of course, every thing that could of gone wrong did :( but luckily the audience didn't know that :P

I can officially call myself a star :D (well, maybe not, but an actor at least  )

I don't even remember half of last night. When I'm on stage, the only thing that keeps me going is adrenaline (did i spell that right?) I have no idea what I'm doing. When the play's over :wtf: <that's me!

eekie, ikie, i'm excited!

Fugue:

noun:a musical form consisting of a theme repeated a fifth above or a fourth below its first statement

noun:a dreamlike state of altered consciousness that may last for hours or days

Now take that and apply it to a play ;)

ok, here's what happened tonight:

I got there like, 5 min late for call, but my stage manager is uber-intense and wouldn't even talk to me for like an hour, she was so mad at me :(

Then, one actor said something to another actor about how the previous night's mistakes were her fault, just joking, but she took it in the completly wrong way and got upset :(

So, everything had been pretty much figured out by the time we were supposed to go on stage. apologies had been said, but spirits were still pretty low. we did our usual cast cheer to get pumped up and things seemed to be going pretty well :)

But, alack! things are not as they seem. during the cheer, someone managed to cut their hand and get blood all over the WHITE costume of another actor. this wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that if we don't all look exactly the same, the play is pretty screwed.

in conclusion ;) we managed to stall the beginning of the play for long enough to hand wash and dry with a hair drier the costume all BACKSTAGE. eek, it was crazay! :freak:

but luckily, the play rocked! we were right on, and nobody noticed the fact that the one guy's costume was still kinda wet...

i dont know about you other actor-preformer-type people, but that was REALLY nerve-wracking , to say the least
