I find it offensive.

It seems highly stereotyped to me.

Meh, I want to stir up conversation here, so I will say it's true. I don't necessarily believe it, but I want people to give different responses besides "that offends me."

Having a girlfriend costs money. It costs a lot of money. When I break up with a girl, I find that I have a lot of extra money sitting around that I don't use on paying for our dates. And if guys don't pay for the dates, odds are, the women will see him as a cheapskate and won't give him another date, unless he's hot and funny.

Guys that still believe the old fashion way of men pay for everything when it comes to women, like I do, have to pay for everything. When you have a girlfriend and you go out on dates with her, and you find yourself paying, you lose a lot of money. But the spending usually impresses the girl and makes her think that, "hey, he is nice and pays for me, maybe I should give him a chance and see where it's going."

Now onto expectations. All guys want to wait for the perfect girl to fall into their laps and let it go from there. It doesn't happen like that. Don't expect to find perfection right away. You have to lower your expectations until you find the girl that you want, or that you tricked yourself into believing you want. Sorry, that's just how it goes.

And if you really want to make the little quote there true, you have to add something about looks in there. No matter how much a woman claims looks don't matter, they really do, and if you're not attractive, half the women out there won't give you a chance. Believe me, I know.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I have to admit, looks do matter to me. I do have to feel physically attracted to the person to be in a relationship of that nature with them. Most of the time when I've gone on a date, usually a double date, I pay for my own food. I still like the old-fashioned sort of thing, but I don't think a guy should be responsible for everything. I also have pretty high expectations. I expect a guy to know me and have actually talked to me for 2+ hours before they decide they "like" me and want to go out with me.

msn greeting cards said it. except they said "man" in place of "woman" and left out the part about opening your wallet.

i just find it interesting that a company like american greetings ( who does their cards. just another reason to hate them ) can post such insulting and stereotypical crap without feeling any sort of public rebuke. however, as i think this thread demonstrated it, if the reverse were on the site they'd have been run out of business by now.

reverse sexism is incredibly prevalent in our media today, and most people don't realize it.

Believe me, I notice it, a lot. What I want to know is why isn't there an association or a movement to put a stop to it? I mean, feminism exists, and it we don't believe in everything they preach, we're automatically sexist, so why don't men start their own association up?

Feminism was perfectly fine back in the day, and it was needed. Women were taken advantage of decades ago. Now feminism is reduced to nothing more than women bitching at an old man that runs a men's only club and complaining that commercials are too sexist for women. Modern-day feminists are a disgrace, and I mean a disgrace, to the origins of the movement back in the 1920s.

Feminists complain that everything is sexually degrading to women. A woman in a swimsuit = sexist. Even if the woman chose to wear that swimsuit, in some way, a man is responsible for making her wear it, and, therefore, is the devil. Some people at my school built a 7 foot tall penis with snow, which was quite funny, and a bunch of women knocked it over because....it was sexist.

I propose this question. If male and female sexuality is sexist, then what exactly is acceptable? If all hints to sexuality were to go away, feminists would have to find a new reason to bitch, and would probably say that a woman's knee high red skirt is in too provocative of a place in too provocative of a color, and will turn around and blame it on all the men of the world.

As you can tell, I don't like feminism one bit and I sure as hell do not agree to what it tries to accomplish these days.

Back on topic, I propose this idea. I feel that all the attentive men out in society today that notice the sexist double-standard in society should form a group to fight it. If feminism and NOW have some sort of power to complain about female degredation through wearing a thong, then men should have just as much of a right to form a group to attack companies like American Greetings that use "reverse sexism" to sell a greeting card. (By the way, why is it "reverse sexism"? Sexism is sexism, no matter what sex gets offended.)

Men should form this group, and watch what happens in the press. I guarantee that no one would take the group seriously, because, remember, men always have it so much better than women, even though feminism is supposed to make dealings between men and women equal, right?

I am not saying that all men should be chauvanistic and degrade women at every turn, but rather should start pointing out some of the double standards that are prevalent in today's society. And if the feminists have some sort of a stand against what men feel is sexist, which is almost guaranteed, then we start having anti-feminist propaghanda in the media.

I pay for my own dates, yes if my date insists i'll let him pay once in a while, but other than that i pretty much pay for myself. So the open up your wallet portion of it applies to both guys and girls. As for lower your standards, never do that. It's a horrible thing to say or do, how would you like it if you found out that the person you were dating right now is with you becuase they lowered their standards? i think that would make nobody feel good.

No you said there should be a sort of association for the male form of feminists, and there is, they are called chauvinists, after Nicolas Chauvin.
