Post by skip »

does anybody think that if OLP put an official poll on there website for what songs they want on their greatest hits cd would be a good idea?

ummm... well considering they have released 19 singles those are pretty well the ones we would expect on the album... People wanna buy the "good songs" aka singles, not songs like The Wonderful Future and Car Crash...

It's a good thought, but it's obvious what the songs will be...

Birdman
Starseed
Naveed
Superman's Dead
Clumsy
4am
One Man Army
Is Anybody Home?
Thief
In Repair
Life
Somewhere Out There
Innocent
Made of Steel

And maybe a few other singles that I didn't mention.

i'm really not even that interested in a "best of" cd :uh:
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

I'd have to say Naveed has the worst non-singles of all the albums though...

Neon Crossing and Denied are pretty cool.......but a best of CD will defintely have only best of material........and maybe a bonus song.....like Our Time is Fading.......studio version......that would be cool.

Why are we talking about what "will be" on it? It was a hoax, wasn't it? It better have been.

They better put a new song or two, and some non-singles.

The Wonderful Future
Under Zenith
Stealing Babies
Car Crash

Julia is the only non-single I enjoy off of Naveed, look at Happiness.. there isn't a bad song on there

The Consequence of Laughing isn't exactly an OLP masterpiece. I like the song, but it took me a long time to like.

I like Happiness......very good album, but asking for non-singles to make it on is highly unlikely in my mind. It is their greatest hits afterall.....that means what was popular.

They've had what...........18-20 singles. Unless the make it 2 discs, don't expect any non-singles. New material would make me buy it for sure. I'll probably but it anyways because my brain doesn't work anymore.........OLP makes the decisions now.

Unless its like U2 or the stones Best ofs dont really have 2 CDs.

My fav CD tho has to be Happiness... I just love every song on there. Not to say I don't love every song off of any of the other albums...

Is it a Best of or a Greatest Hits? Because that could make a difference...

Intimate & Interactive version of Thief. Quite possibly the best recording ever. They should release that one track on a CD and call it the "Best of OLP".
