They do have a lot of say, but OLP are under a contract, and have to do what Sony says (to a certain extent). Besides, OLP wouldn't have to be very involved in, for instance, a Best Of... CD. They'd probably just have to approve a list of songs to go on it.
Also, someone mentioned that OLP are hoping to get away from Sony when the contract runs out. If a Best Of... CD will get them closer to that goal, I'm all for it. But it would still probably be Sony's idea (or, possibly, their demand).

I'm not really into the Best of CD thing. Not only that, it's way too soon. Greatest Hits and Best ofs should be made after a band/artist has made ten or so albums.
