I was dissapointed with this version of imagine....the live one is way better....but raine does have an amazing voice and he proves it with this song
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

I just bought the Peace Songs album. You guys are right, this version of "Imagine" totally sucks!!! I was expecting something like the "live version" whiich was amazing, but when I put my CD on, I knew right away that it was gonna suck after hearing the first few seconds. Thumbs down for Raine. Thumbs up for Chantal and Avril! They did a good job. These are the 3 songs that I have listened so far and probably the only 3 that I will listen to. Actually, I bought this album mostly because it's for a good cause and also because Raine & Chantal are promoting this album for the last few weeks.

Raine's voice isnt bad, but the music itself sounds like something off a cheesy "Mellow Guitar" CD (which I have and which has Imagine on it - sounds the same). Blah

the live one has such passion in raine's voice, it's even better than the original. this one was boring. period.

why they didnt just put on the live version confuses the heck outta me! (and i know its possible as a couple other bands had live songs)

unless, of course, that copy of the live imagine everyone has is a bootleg, which i seriously doubt, as it sounds too good for a bootleg.

A little off topic, but I preordered this cd from hmv.com over a week ago (I'm from the US and can't get it in stores) and I got an e-mail this morning from hmv saying that it was on backorder! How can it be on backorder when I *pre*ordered it??? Isn't the whole purpose of a "pre" order to make sure you get the cd (or, in this case, that the cd is sent out) on the day of release or thereabouts? I ordered the OZ "SOT" single from there and that went on backorder too, but that wasn't a preorder and it was an import, so I could understand that. Well, enough of my ranting!

As far as the clip from the website, it didn't really impress me too much. Then again, it was just a clip and I only listened to it once. Believe it or not, I've never heard the live version! I'm d/l-ing it now from the hub and I'll try to d/l the Peace Songs version afterwards.

Later...

Brutus is an honorable man
It's just coincidence that oil men will wage war in an oil rich land
And this one goes out to my man taking cover in the trenches with a gun in his hand
Then gets home and no one flinches when he can't feed his fam...

But Brutus is an honorable man...

I liked the live version one better too... the only thing I didn't like about the song was his introduction for it, it could have been introduced much better than that. That's just a minor flaw. The Peace Songs version of Imagine isn't bad, but it's just not as good as the live one. His voice sounded better on that version.

yeah, like the other guys are still there he's acting like steve is the messiah and he's going to save them all, and everything he does is gold, he's a great guy but use your other band mates too man, let's not forget jeremy isn't exactly considered a amateur drummer in teh drumming community
