im late on this subject but yeah they need to mix up thier set, i saw them 4 times on the last tour and they were all a bit different but not enough.

im goin to see pearl jam next month and really excited based on setlist alone, they play 25-30 songs a night which includes 2 or 3 encores and very different sets every night, even some of the essential huge hits have been taken out of the set at times to make room for change

who says that olp needs to play superman's dead or naveed every single night

OLP are not Pearl Jam. They will always play the staple songs every night. Steve doesn not know all of the other songs and they are focused on new stuff. I wouldnt want them to play 25-30 songs every night that shows your band is starting to wash up. 16-18 songs is a good set if anything they should just choose 30 songs and randomize them each night for 18 songs. I think they like their little production as is so I dont think much is going to change except for a few Gravity songs replaced with new CD songs.

ya I think 16-20 is good. 16-18 on most nights but on occasion hrow in a couple just to reward to audience if they've been awesome.
Keep the staples (Naveed, Starseed, Supermans Dead, 4AM, and whatever the new singles are on that given tour) and then after that you have 22-24 songs to choose from to throw into the remaining 10 or so spots.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
