I'm obsessing over What It Is To Burn, right now.

Specifically, "Letters to You" and "Without You Here".

I don't really get the pop punk allegations towards them.

Finch are a great band. They really don't get enough credit. They're also amazing live, I just saw them this past February and I heard a lot of rumors about how they weren't that good live, but they were amazing.

I like Finch. I jumped on their bandwagon back when their first EP came out. God bless stupid flash intros on websites. I never would have found out Finch, Koufax, or Elliott without them.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I don't know, I think people expect to hear the same thing they hear on the album, when they're determining whether or not a band is up to par live. Our Lady Peace are by far the worst of my favorite bands, live, by that definition.. but the passion is what makes up for it, the whole OLP live experience.

Tool, though, they're perfect in every way. Sounds as tight as the album, plus it's completely a spiritual experience. No other way to describe it.

One of my friends turned me onto them. I'm not an obsessed fan but I'll probably buy their CD soon because I like them a lot.

^ = "what it is to burn"

I used to like it a lot before it got too overplayed. I'm kicking myself for not buying the ataris' new one, or all american rejects cause it was 10$ today

i didn't think a-ar were very good live

i don't care for finch

the screaming and the lyrics
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

You know, there are good "screamo" bands out there. Well, Glassjaw, and I suppose Finch would work for me.

Finch's lyrics blow. I feel that I can write better than them, and honestly, it's sad, because I am not a great writer, at all.

What about Matt screaming in Goodbye Forever?

I assumed the second chorus was pure screaming by Matt.

belting maybe.

screaming is that shit in songs like the greatest fall by matchbook romance which is a terrible song by a terrible band that sounds exactly like many other terrible bands
