Liberal Arts

"Liberal Arts"
By: me

You hide behind your canvas
But the brush strokes won't conceal your lies
You paint a picture of resentment
Framing a misleading victim guise

You orchestrate diversion
With a melody that captures heed
You strum a ballad for attention
Composing an encore of your creed

You cast blame with a passage
And a pen operates as your sword
You scribed an ode of accusation
Inviting naive readers aboard

You claim your mold is sovereign
In your name a statue erected
You sculpt the bourgeois as ignorant
Nevermind questions you neglected

You dance around the issues
As you continue this promenade
You are comparably deviant
When will you desist this masquerade?

I don't really agree with the view [I'm assuming it's about France, "In your name a statue erected" ], but we'll do aside with politics here. :)

Even with our conflicting views, I like it. And that says a lot. Very nice work. I like the imagery and the ambiguous referances rather than coming right out and saying it. Good job!

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.
