You are so very the friggin' man. I can't use the hub cuz I'm stupid; and I couldn't get the big friggin' movie because I'm on a dial-up. I'm d/ling it now... can't wait to hear it...
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I just heard it for the first time, and honestly, I'm not impressed at all. Oh well.

not impressed :freak: well it's your opinion

but you gotta give OLP props for playing song at the Juno's that basically no one in North America has ever heard. It shows the real creativity and the energy and the non-sellout nature of the band.

I'm still saying best OLP song ever, kicks the shite out of second best, Naveed.

yeah i think that if we're thinking the song is alright it's only because it's maybe not as bad as recent work they've done. (and i do think the song is 'alright') from what i could comprehend of the lyrics, they've gotten even simpler and more mundane. :uh:

all opinion...it's just that the guitar riff is so sweet...lyrics are simple, but remember that we don't even know what the real words are...lyrics can change...

Our Lady Peace is such an amazing band. They took something that would have just been another single played live on TV, same old unethusastic advertisement for the band, and turned it into this huge deal for the fans. Think about it! We've got multiple threads about this one song! People were desperate to get this. We wouldn't have had this little jolt of excitement had they just played Innocent.

i love the song...it's amazing...ya the lyrics are simple but that actually doesn't bother me...it doesn't really remind me of gravity either, just something completely new...but it still sounds like OLP and they sound great doing it, i'm starting to actually coming to terms with the "new direction"...

i think i like the lyrics to not afraid better than the ones on gravity is because they're a bit more ambiguous. most of the songs on gravity seemed to be love songs or about relationships, but not afraid could be about a bunch of different things and could be interpreted many different ways.

The sound reminds me of something from Spiritual Machines. Not so much the lyrics, but the little riff kinda reminds of The Wonderful Future.

I really love this song. It might not be their best, but today I was going home from school, Not Afraid was playing in my head, and suddenly something just *clicked*. It touched me and I could connect to it, and that's all that matters for me.

Just want until Bob gets his hands around this song when they go into studio... Not Afraid may be too intelligent of a title... I expect something along the lines of "me no scared", cause we must dim it down for the masses
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

lol. I friggin' dug the song. Raine did kinda butcher it a little, but that can be blamed on the fact that they had no real soundcheck, and that it's brand spankin' new; and probably hasn't been practiced much. You can easily feel how the studio version will sound, and I think it's gonna rock socks. I can't wait for the new album.

I've had the song stuck in my head for the past couple of days. Only problem is that the lyrics are kind of unfinished in my head because I know Raine had to have mixed up some stuff. It went from being ambiguous to unintelligable.

Other than that, I really love the song. It's upbeat and rock.
