Question...

Post by bovine »

Is there such a thing as a white Sharpie pen? I've never seen one, so if not, what do people use to get artists to sign things that are dark in color? I was thinking of a white-out pen, but that's still kind of the consistency of regular white out, isn't it (meaning it is too thick and not able to be used for autographs)? Anyway, any suggestions would be mucho appriciated :)

I saw this thing and you could see if your money was counterfeit. It was a special pen.

Whoo.

Yeah, actually, wouldn't any gel pen work? I know they make black paper for them.

Personally, I like silver or gold markers (mine are made by Pilot). You can get them at Staples or any other office supply store. They're nifty. My boyfriend's band all bought them when their album came out, cos I made the cover black (I designed their album). Looked spiffy signed.

Oh, but there's one bad thing about them. If you touch the signature/writing before it's dry (they're like paint markers), it smears. Bad. Although, you can get someone's thumb print really easily, which could be kinda fun with a celebrity.

A White-Out pen would work. Last year, from extreme boredom, I covered the whole front and back of a folder with designs drawn from a white-out pen. It was a light green folder, and I just thought the designs would look cool in white instead of plain old black.

I like the idea of the silver or gold markers. I think I may try that! Oh, and to the person who mentioned the markers that tell if money is counterfit...that was totally off topic, but anyway...we have them where I work. They come up gold if it's ok and black if it's counterfit (I've never had it come up black).

Thanks to everyone who gave ideas!

And no, I don't have too much time on my hands. Anyway, time would become meaningless if there were too much of it. If death were indefinatly put...ah forget it!!!

Actually, they do make white markers. I have one, it's really cool, it's not a white out pen or a gel pen either. It takes a second after you write on something but then it turns bright white. it's super cool.

You want to hear something really weird? At first I was like "Woah! He knows Kurzweil! Sweet!" Then "Oh yeah, SM..."

I'm always on the look-out (in "real life") for people who know of Kurzweil. I'm in desparate need of an intelligent conversation.

My Psych teacher knows about him. When I referenced AOSM on a project, he jotted down that Kurzweil's a genius.

Wow. I'm off topic.

I actually am somewhat familiar with Kurzweil! I read about 3/4 of the Age Of Spiritual Machines and it was *really* interesting (at least the parts I understood of it  ). How many years did he predict it would be until DNA-based evolution would become obsolete? I thought that part was especially intreging! Anyway, I wished I had read the whole thing, but when I got to the 3/4 (or so) mark, we started reading some dumb book by Shakespeare in my english class. I understand Shakespeare *way* less than I understand Kurzweil and I find him about [7634769253.874 to the tenth power] less interesting than Kurzweil...anyway, my point is that if I kept reading both books, I would have made nothing of either one so I stopped reading AOSM

Maybe someday I'll get back to reading it

I've read AOSM twice. I also get Kurzweil's daily newsletter.
