1) Later This Year, 2) April 1st, 3) Repeat

Post by bovine »

So, first OLP announces that they will release a live album "later this year". It is then announced in several locations (including olp.cc and an official olp.com e-mail newsletter) that the release date would be on April 1st. Now this from olp.net:

OurLadyPeace.Net wrote:OLP will be releasing a live album and DVD from the Canadian tour dates in Calgary and Edmonton later this year. We'll announce the release dates on ourladypeace.net as soon as we have them!

Does anyone else feel like we're being given the run-around?

Live OLP album

I have a feeling if its not released on April 1st than something is messed, MTV.com already lists the live album as their newest release.

You'd think its gonna be recent then.....

I'm pretty sure it's out April 1st... cos I've seen several people who work at music stores mention that it was on the release list for April 1st... of course, that doesn't mean it can't be pushed back... but, if it is...

Those lists in record stores mean little. Around the time of Binaural, Pearl Jam were listed as releasing the album in Obtober initially and it didn't come out until April/May if memory serves.

The upcoming releases sheet is not gospel. Trust me, when the release date is known it will be posted on olp.com and promotional campaign will begin in earnest.

Yeah, I'm one of those people [who works at a record store and confirmed it]. But you'd think the band (or whoever does their website) would have an even better idea about the release date than a random record store.

I can understand it being pushed back a week or 2 (although I don't want it to be  ), but when they say "later this year" it doesn't give me the feeling that it may be released on April 8th or 15th, but rather like next winter

If I had to guess, I would still say it will be released in April (maybe a week or 2 late, but still April) but it just confuses me as to why they would say "later this year" when a date has been set :wtf:

Exactly.....and also, why would they have already announced what shows they used to make the cd. Ya know??? Why would they have used shows already performed if the cd was going to come out LATer this year, rather than sooner like the already talked about April release.

Just seems like they would use a later show, if in fact, a later release. To keep it as current as they possibly can.....while not messing up the distribution of the album.

Yeah, I know...but where's the fun in that? Also, It would put it under that line and I don't think that would look so good for just signing a name...it's cool if you want to put a quote or something, but I can type my name each time.

Thanks a bunch for letting me know though

Any time! It's not like I have anything better to do than surf this board all day and make random comments. I'm not being sarcastic. It's true. I think I need more friends...
